Message from the Principal
Dear Chloe Clark Families,
We LOVE having parents and guardians involved in school events, and it's always a special treat for your child to see you at activities such as ‘Recess Takeover’, helping out in the classroom, or having lunch together in our lunchroom. Please remember that all adults on site or helping out on field trips must be cleared in advance to ensure the safety of our students and staff. The application only takes a few minutes to fill out. We have attached the link below.
If you'd like to join your child for lunch, we encourage you to bring a sack lunch from home as Food Services only prepares enough meals based on the student count for the day. Should you wish to purchase a school lunch, please inform the office on the morning of your visit so we can notify our amazing kitchen staff of the additional need.
It’s the time of year again when sickness seems to be affecting a lot of us. Just a reminder, if your child is out due to illness and they have seen a doctor, please provide us the note for their file. This helps us ensure proper documentation and support for your child’s return to school. Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy!
Our next PTA Recess Takeover is Friday, October 18th. Please join us - Your kids are so happy when their parents come out to play!
Warmly,
Loretta Duncan

Counselor Corner
Good Evening Chloe Clark Families,
We are beginning a new counselor lesson this week. Our topic is flexible thinking instead of rigid thinking. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns and flexible thinking is an essential skill. Teaching children about flexible thinking allows them to adapt to new situations, solve problems creatively, and be able to understand other people’s perspectives. Here are some ways you can help nurture this important ability at home:
1. Encourage Curiosity: Ask open-ended questions that inspire your child to think critically. For example, “What do you think would happen if…?” This promotes exploration and imaginative thinking.
2. Model Flexibility: Share your own experiences of adapting to change. Discuss times when you had to rethink your approach and how it led to positive outcomes.
3. Promote Problem-Solving: Present your child with challenges that require them to brainstorm multiple solutions. Celebrate their unique ideas, even if they seem unconventional. At school we use the Problem Solving Wheel to identify strategies to solve problems. I've included it below.
4. Practice Perspective-Taking: Encourage discussions about different viewpoints. This can be through reading stories such as “A Tale of Two Beasts” which tells the same story but from two different perspectives or by exploring what other people may think or feel in situations.
5. Play Games: Board games and puzzles that require strategy and adaptation can be excellent tools for developing flexible thinking skills.
By actively engaging in these practices, you can help your child become a more adaptive thinker, ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
Warm regards,
Mrs. C.
