We have officially made it a quarter of the way through the school year! At the end of last week you should have received a paper copy of your child's 1st quarter report card. As always, please continue to keep up with their grades and progress through HAC. We are looking forward to the progress that our students continue to make as we go through the next three quarters.

We will be hosting a PBIS Glow Dance Party as our 2nd Incentive. To get invited to our Glow Dance Party students will need to earn 50 Blue Treasurer Tickets. Students can earn Blue Treasure Tickets by meeting our school expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, and Ready. Please take a moment to review the Behavior Expectations Matrix below with your child to reinforce how they can earn their Blue Treasurer Tickets. Students need to collect 50 Blue Tickets between November 11th and January 19th to attend. Students and Teachers will track progress, and we’ll celebrate our successful students with a fun, energetic dance party.

The Glow Dance Party will be held on Monday, January 31st:

• K-2nd Grade: 12:30-1:00 pm
• 3rd-4th Grade: 3:00-3:30

Let’s encourage our students to work hard toward this exciting event!

Your child will be bringing home a Winter Tradition Ornament. We invite you to spend some time together to create an ornament that represents your family's winter holiday tradition. Please return the completed ornament to school by December 6th. All returned ornaments will be used to decorate our bulletin boards as we celebrate the diverse traditions of our John Muir family.

We’re excited to kick off our annual The Cleveland Caramel Corn Co. Popcorn Fundraiser! Funds raised will go directly to the student fund, which supports student incentives and field trips. The fundraiser will run from November 18th to November 25th.

Incentives:

• The Top Seller from each grade will enjoy lunch with Mrs. McKim.
• The Class that sells the most bags will win an ice cream party!

Students will bring home order forms on November 15th, and all completed forms and payments need to be returned by November 25th.

Please support our fundraiser—100% of the proceeds benefit our students directly!

Our Vikings are enthusiastically participating in our two attendance incentives, and we're seeing fantastic engagement!

• 200 Crew: Our 200 Crew is growing each day, and we anticipate celebrating our first full 200 Crew of the year soon! Students are selected randomly and announced during morning announcements. When their name is called, if they’re ready to learn, they get to add their photo to the 200 Crew Wall.

• Cleveland Browns Stay in the Game: Each week, the class with the highest attendance percentage earns a letter. When a class spells out “BROWNS,” they get to choose a special activity with Mrs. McKim. Ask your Viking how many letters their class has earned so far!

Recently, we celebrated the classes of Mrs. Albright and Mrs. Zahniser, who each achieved 100% attendance for an entire week. We love celebrating when we’re all here, learning together!

Our Lost and Found is overflowing! If your child is missing a clothing item, water bottle, or other belongings, please remind them to check the Lost and Found. Parents are also welcome to stop by between 9:40 AM and 3:45 PM to look for any missing items.

Please note: Unclaimed items will be donated to charity after December 13th. Be sure to check before then!

On Friday, October 25th, a group of our kindergarteners took part in the PCSD Kindergarten/Senior Night at Byers Field. They enjoyed fun games before the football game and had the exciting opportunity to walk on Byers Field as part of the pre-game festivities. At the 50-yard line, they met with graduating seniors from the high schools, making it a memorable evening celebrating both our future and current graduates. It was a wonderful night honoring our kindergarteners and seniors alike!
