SRP Update
- Please use this credit line on ALL SRP signs, press releases, posters, websites and promotions. You may personalize this credit line by adding your library’s name and the names of local sponsors at the end.The statewide Rhode Island Summer Reading Program is supported by the RI Office of Library and Information Services, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The PawSox, Citizens Bank, and Pepsi only need to be credited when referencing the All-Star Reading Team and finale event, and should not be credited on general SRP PR.
- Instead of the Explorer Card, coupons to area museums/attractions will be available individually. Unfortunately coupons to Dave & Busters and PF Changs will not be available through OLIS.
- A date has not yet been set for the All-Star Reader finale at McCoy Stadium. I will keep you posted.
- There will be some changes to the questions OLIS asks about your program for the end of SRP report. A template with exact questions will be available by May and changes include:
Will not ask completion numbers
Will not ask for participants’ schools
Will ask about outreach
Will ask about programming other than showcase performers
- The 2017 Kids Reading Across RI selection is Save Me a Seat by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan. The kickoff event is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2pm-4pm at the State House. Libraries are invited to participate at the event with an activity and/or promotional materials for their upcoming SRP. Please let me know if you would like to participate. Once book sets are available I will contact you with the request form (most likely March/April).
