Principal's Letter
Aloha Hickam Families,
As the second quarter of the school year winds down, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support and partnership. Your encouragement and involvement in your child's education have been invaluable.
As we approach the holiday break, let's maintain the momentum we've built. Please encourage your child to continue reading and engaging in other learning activities. We look forward to welcoming them back refreshed and ready to learn in the new year. Otherwise, we hope your Thanksgiving break and holiday season are filled with joy, love, and gratitude.
Sincerely,
Patrick Wetzel
Principal
Vice Principal's Letter
Aloha HES Ohana,
What a great month we had in November! Thank you to all the parents, staff members and volunteers who helped with so many wonderful events and class activities. This month, we will continue to focus on safety and academic instruction at HES. Also, as a reminder during winter break, please have your child read for 20 minutes or more each day. As you know, reading is a powerful tool for building creativity and imagination, but also requires practice and consistency.
Hopefully years from now, during the holiday season, you and your child(ren) will remember these wonderful times spent together. Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year from our HES family to yours!
Kindly,
Ms. Jones
Vice Principal

Amazing Shake Competition
Last month, ten Hickam Elementary students moved on to Round 3 in the Amazing Shake Competition! They competed at Aliamanu Middle School against the top students from six elementary schools in our Radford Complex. We are so proud of how they represented our school and truly had "poise under pressure!" The winners from this round will go on to compete at the Global Amazing Shake event in Atlanta, Georgia. Our school will be sending two representatives to this fantastic competition in March! Good luck, students!
