A Note from the Principal
We have had an AMAZING start to our school year! Thank you for your continued support in getting our learners to school each day ready to go! We have seen great success as we start this year!
As always, my door is open and our team welcomes your input. Please feel free to contact me via email at the address below or call to make an appointment to speak with me to discuss any ideas you feel will make this the best year yet!
GO BEARS!
ATTENDANCE & ROUTINES
We need your student(s) here daily! Don't have your child stay home unless they are truly sick.
Try to schedule medical/dental appointments outside of the school day
Online attendance via ParentVue-Please complete early
- Help your student develop good routines daily
- Checking practice/studying for summatives
- Talking about the school day
- What was the best part of your day?
- Can you show me something you learned today?
- What was the hardest thing you had to do today?
- Putting first things first and completing practice that comes home
Submitting your student's absence in ParentVue
We appreciate you submitting your student's absence in ParentVue when needed. Just a reminder that if your student is only absent for the one day, please do not enter an 'end date'. Only enter an end date if the absence is more than one day long.
Also, if your student will be late to school, please enter this as 'other' with the reason. Please do not enter an early pick up notification, as an entry marks them out for the day.
Thank you

mySAEBRS Screener
We're introducing a new screening tool for middle school students to support their social and emotional development. In addition to the FastBridge SAEBRS screener used by teachers, we will now also use mySAEBRS. This tool was designed as a universal screening tool to be used in conjunction with other data and allow for students to have a voice. It consists of 20 total questions and will be taken during XLT time once a trimester. Additional information can be found at https://www.illuminateed.com/. If you have any questions or prefer that your child not participate, please contact Kristin Schmidt, Director of Social Emotional Learning, at klschmidt@d47.org by Friday, September 13, 2024. If we do not hear from you, we will assume your child has permission to participate in this program.
Family Assistance
Throughout the school year, the school is often asked by various community agencies to submit names of families who would appreciate some assistance, usually with clothing and food items. Names of families submitted to these agencies will remain confidential. If your family would like to receive assistance, please complete the Family Assistance Consent form provided in the link below. We will also send a paper copy home with your student if you prefer to fill it out by hand. These programs are based on first come and first serve. Please note that resources are very limited, and filling out this form is not a guarantee of assistance. Please submit this form by 9/27/24. If you have any questions feel free to contact our school counselor, Amy Hoven, at ahoven@d47.org or at 815-788-5769. Thank you!
