Gridley Gazette, 8th Edition
March 2025
Message from Mrs. Rosanna Ortiz-Montoya, Principal
As we welcome the arrival of spring, it's a wonderful time to reflect on the progress our students have made this academic year and look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
Spring is approaching and learning is in full swing here at Gridley Middle School. As you may know, this is a time of year that students make the most academic and social learning improvements. Make school a priority. Very soon the weather will change with spring right around the corner. It can be challenging to keep our children focused on learning.
With spring break just weeks away and as we prepare for some well-deserved rest and relaxation, students should remember to tie up any loose ends with assignments and coursework. They can reach out to their teachers if they have any questions or concerns about impending deadlines. Let's finish strong before enjoying our break!
Finally, know that you do not have to wait for a parent conferences to call if you have questions, concerns, or need assistance. We are here to serve your students and your families. Please contact your student's teacher, the office staff, or me if you would like to set up a meeting to discuss any issues. As always, THANK YOU for being our partners in this important work of helping your students enjoy learning and preparing them for a bright future!

Borderlands' Produce On Wheels Without Waste (P.O.W.W.O.W.)
Borderlands' P.O.W.W.O.W. serves as our largest Arizona redistribution program. Each produce season, from November through August, our organization partners with 30+ non-profits or community groups to host Saturday market locations. At each of our Borderlands P.O.W.W.O.W. event supporters can make a cash contribution of at least $15 to support our non-profit, and as a thank you, take home up to 70lbs of rescued produce.
Your donations and contributions make it possible for us to rescue, recycle and redistribute 20 to 30 million pounds of produce every season. With your contributions at our weekly Borderlands’ P.O.W.W.O.W. events we are then able to transport, warehouse and redistribute another 400lbs of produce. Your donations at these events are especially critical to covering the cost of our transportation; each season we will drive an average of 100,000 miles, across Arizona, to the many Borderlands P.O.W.W.O.W. host locations.
