We emailed families on Tuesday, October 15, with a mySelwyn link to complete the form. We are requesting this information now for planning purposes, as we have a waitlist for most grades. You can find the form in mySelwyn by clicking on the "Form to Review" notice that has been added at the top of the page. If you need assistance logging into mySelwyn, please email Ms. Kelli Poulin at poulink@selwyn.ca. No payment is required at this time.
Dress Code
Please note that FULL UNIFORM is required. This includes: formal shoes, dark socks, belt, tie, school pants, and shirt. Your son has the option of wearing the school blazer, knitted school sweater or vest.
Student Volunteers Needed for Halloween
Each year, Senior School students create a Haunted House for elementary students on Halloween. Students interested in helping create and/or act in the Haunted House should speak to Andrew Carvalho Guertin to sign up.
Star Wars Halloween - Pumpkin Carving Activity
Calling all pumpkin carvers, artists, and Star Wars lovers: join the Star Wars Halloween Pumpkin Carving Activity! Students are encouraged to carve a pumpkin with any idea or theme from Star Wars, and students will earn points for their house by contributing a pumpkin. Pumpkins should be brought to school on October 30 and will be displayed in Coristine Hall as we turn the dining hall into a far away galaxy for Halloween on October 31. Think about your ideas, and sign up to participate via this Google Form.
PVA Volunteer Opportunities
As we all know, the Force is strong here at Selwyn, and we'd love to get your help in bringing this theme to life! Signup using the links for Advance Halloween Decorating on October 25, Halloween Animating on October 31 and Halloween Clean Up Crew. Thanks so much for your support!
24 Hours for the Unhoused
From Tuesday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. to Wednesday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m., students taking part in 24 Hours for the Unhoused will engage in workshops hosted by Resilience MTL, Bread and Beyond and Dans la Rue, and will spend the evening sleeping at Selwyn House in the West Yard (under supervision). Students will be encouraged to reflect on their experience, discuss lessons learned, and consider how this event changed their perspective on houselessness. We ask that participants bring a “Soup and Socks” donation, which will be given directly to Dans la Rue or the Stepping Up organization. We also invite our Selwyn House community to contribute new socks or cans of soup—the more, the better! More details to come for how all community members can donate! If you are interested in participating, please complete this application form.
