Important Community Survey - April 22 Deadline
Dear Fremont Community,
Fremont School District 79 greatly values the feedback of our entire community. The District is currently in the process of developing a 10-year Educational Long-Range Facility Plan (ELFP) that encompasses enrollment forecasting, facility and systems assessments, grounds, traffic management, as well as other community-based considerations. To properly plan for the future of our facilities and our impending enrollment growth, we are seeking the input of our community to learn your priorities.
To date, we've received just over 300 responses; help us achieve 100 more responses this week.
This survey is anonymous and should take approximately 8 minutes to complete. It will remain open through Monday, April 22. We hope to hear from as many of you as possible and look forward to sharing the results!

Fremont Middle School students once again performed exceptionally well at this year's Mundelein Mayor's Cup STEM Challenge, which was held this past Sunday at Mundelein High School. Seeking Career Day Speakers
Fremont Middle School 7th grade students will be participating in a Career Day on May 29 and we are looking for your help! To make this happen, we need volunteers to come and speak to small groups of students about their job. A schedule with more information will be provided as the date gets closer. For now, please indicate your interest in speaking to students by completing this Google form. Thank you for your time and help in creating an authentic learning experience for our students!
3rd-5th Grade - Moving to Chromebooks
Since the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, the Intermediate School faculty have been assessing the possibility of making the switch to having our students utilize Chromebooks as opposed to the iPads that they are currently using. This assessment involved gathering teacher feedback, conducting classroom pilots at every grade level, and soliciting student input. Following extensive planning, we have decided to proceed with this change, effective at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. Further details regarding the collection of student iPads and the logistics involved will be communicated in the upcoming weeks. As we close out this year and begin next year, our students and staff will participate in learning experiences to ensure a smooth transition between devices.
Giving Back to Our Community
We'd like to recognize our Fremont Elementary School students and families for their generosity in donating to their annual household items supply drive that benefits the Fremont Township pantry. Thank you for helping out those in our community who are in need!
Kids Heart Challenge
A huge thank you to all of you and our students who participated in the Kids Heart Challenge as well as Mr. Bonner, Mrs. Spino, Ms. Northup, Mr. Sciutto, Mrs. Jeffries and Mr. Wyatt. The elementary students raised $14,787 and the intermediate students raised $18,848. The support and participation in the Kids Heart Challenge/American Heart Challenge makes a tremendous impact in helping millions of Americans through increased awareness of cardiovascular disease, lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts.
