Levelland ISD's
August 21st, 2023
Levelland ISD began the 2023-2024 school year last week.
This is such an amazing time of the year. The elementary schools and middle school have held the
annual “Welcome Back” and “Meet the Teacher” events. The students are happy and attended their
campus events with excitement. Throughout the summer months, many individuals have been diligent in preparing for the new school year. Our maintenance, custodial, grounds and transportation departments have worked tirelessly to have everything ready. We know that the first impression everyone has of our district is the upkeep of our facilities. The individuals in these departments are our summer heroes.
We are also excited to announce that our business office received a 100 – Superior Achievement on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas for 2022-2023. This accolade is a result of true diligence and financial efficiency for the district. Another thrilling announcement is the Board of Trustees approved of a 3% raise for all staff members. For Levelland ISD, this increase in salary for our staff is approximately $900,000. There is not an additional funding source at this time and we are operating on current state law. However, we were able to provide this raise to our staff as a result of operational efficiency.
Additionally, we do anticipate the school district tax rate going down by over fifteen cents and a
balanced budget for the 2023-2024 school year. At Levelland ISD we Expect Excellence. Excellence is not a one-time event or an accident, it is a process of continual growth. Our students deserve excellence and always rise to the occasion. Levelland ISD staff members are amongst the best in the state of Texas and on any given day go above and beyond for our students. We always strive for perfection. That is what Levelland ISD does. We take pride in our daily activities and operate every department with the highest of ethics and superiority.
As we begin the new school year and get to serve over 2500 students on a daily basis, we ask for your kindness and your prayers. We ask for your understanding that everything that we are doing is with everyone’s best interest in mind. We ask this for our students, our staff, our school board, our parents, and our community. We are charged with providing a quality education to our students and that is what we will do because schools are for kids.
Go Lobos.
