Tech Tip Tuesday (May 10, 2022)

Google Calendar is getting better. Check out these features that might help!
Appointment Slots
This is a game changer!
In a new update, Google Calendar allows you to add appointment slots for availability. You can add a location, notes, and most important, Google Meet integration. You can limit the window
Uses for teachers and administrators
- Parent-teacher conferences
- After school help for students
- Counselor or social work appointments
- Tutoring sessions
- Common meeting times
Calendar Keyboard Shortcuts
Change the way you see your GCal with the click of a button!
You can either use the dropdown menu in the top right corner OR
use the keyboard shortcuts by hitting the one letter while on GCal:
Views and Shortcuts
- Day-D
- Week-W
- Month-M
- Year-Y
- Schedule-A (this one is crazy helpful!)
- 4 days-X
Integrate your GCal with Outlook (Microsoft) or iCal (Apple)/Android Calendar (Android)
Integrate your school GCal with your Outlook account on your school laptop easily. This allows you to get device notifications on your computer without having to put events in two spots.
I am all about separation of work and personal life, but I do enjoy getting my work notifications on my phone to remind me during the work day.
Share your GCal with your Apple or Android device to make sure you don't miss a beat!
You can also add the Google Calendar app to either platform if you'd like!
Recurring Events and Custom End Times
Yes, you've set up a PLC or staff meeting that occurs monthly, but did you know that you can set when that recurring event can end?
Check out the Custom options so you can keep the item from repeating in the summer!
Check out the LTC's Google Calendar course!
The course is FREE!
Registration closes on June 10th, 2022 at 11:59 pm.
