This Week at École OLPH School
January 8 to 12, 2024
Our Mission Statement
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School
Our Lady of Perpetual Help school is committed to quality education in both official languages fostering in our students respect for life and learning as Christ taught us.
Principal Message
Adults sometimes diminish the value of New Year's resolutions, and yet they're about renewal. St. Augustine says, "You aspire to great things? Begin with little ones." In this time of renewal, in the opportunity to refocus that is the New Year, let us pray:
God of all time, soften our hearts to love,
Open our eyes and our ears to Goodness, Beauty, Truth,
Be in us and give us strength to enter this gift of this New Year
With gratitude,
Without thoughtfulness
With quiet reverence.
Let us learn from the close of this season of Christmas, on Epiphany:
May we learn the lesson of the Magi,
That Christ is for all Peoples.
God, be with us.
Amen.

A Reading from the Gospel for Sunday, January 7, 2024
In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, magi from the east came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star in the east, and have come to pay him homage.”
Then King Herod sent them to Bethlehem saying, “Go and search diligently for the child.”
They set out, and there, ahead of them, went the star that they had seen in the east, until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they knelt down and paid him homage.
