First Night Fun in Westfield!
Westfield (just north of Indianapolis) is filled with restaurants, hotels, and things to do, and we've added a special, fun activity on Wednesday night. We know many teachers can be VERY competitive at trivia. Join other middle level educators and our keynote speakers for a night of fun! Register here.
Earlier this month I attended a fantastic webinar with Erik Francis that combined Depth of Knowledge (DOK) with artificial intelligence (AI). It's one of those I've had to watch over again and pause to help capture the many great ideas he included. You can see the webinar here, or by clicking on the title above. Erik will be a featured speaker at MidCon, and also has a newly-released Solution Tree book, Inquiring Minds.
Thinking of Playing around with AI This Summer? Some Resources
Great Prompts from Tony Vincent
The more specific you are with an AI request, the more likely you are to get better results. You can find the link for Tony Vincent's AI images graphic here.
Other AI Resources, Including IDOE
During the "Day of AI", IDOE hosted several brief, live sessions, found in this Learning Lab Collection, and released a Guidance Document; there are several other resources in the Learning Lab.
They also shared a national consortium curriculum resource (with different grade levels), and this Teach AI overview that includes Code.org, ISTE, and other organizations.

What's That Book? Enter some things about a book, and it might just be able to come up with a title! Can be used to find a particular book, or get ideas of what to read.
Happy Experimenting!
Teachers First Book Study
This book study focuses on technology implementation strategies. Guided by the ISTE Standards, the goal is to help participants forge a better understanding of how to use technology to improve student learning. Those who participate throughout the summer are reimbursed the cost of the book and can receive PGPs. Find the schedule and register here. I participated in a previous TeachersFirst book study, probably the best I've ever done.

Food for Thought: Cell Phones
There have been many conversations, news stories, and debates about cell phones in schools; many Indiana middle schools have recently changed policies, partly in efforts to adjust to the new state law. Here is a thought-provoking article from edWeek (with a free account, you can access a few articles/month)
Just for Fun....
See the great lengths these students went to prove they weren't cheating on an exam!
