Dear Bobcat Families,
As February approaches, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate our wonderful counselor, Ms. Bulino! Next week, February 3-7, is National Counselor Appreciation Week. Ms. Bulino wears so many hats as our school counselor. We love her creativity and caring attitude towards all students and staff. She makes our school a safe and fun place to learn both academically and emotionally. Thank you, Ms. Bulino!
Additionally, next week we will have Spring pictures, which includes our class pictures. Order forms were sent home this week. There’s also a QR code and link below to order online.
We are looking forward to the warmer weather, as January can be a time students tend to catch a cold or are home for illness. As a reminder, if your student is out for illness, please call the Child Safe line, and follow up with a note either from a doctor or parent to excuse the absence. You may also enter this information in Skyward (see below for step-by-step instructions.) We know if kids are not feeling well and are ill, being at home or going to the doctor’s office is the best place for them to heal. We definitely appreciate our supportive parents! Reach out to the office if you have any questions about absences.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
This week’s important dates:
Wednesday, February 5th - Ms. Bulino appreciation day! Wear PURPLE!!!
Thursday, February 6th - Spring Pictures - Dress to Impress!
Friday, February 7th - Heart Healthy Awareness Day for the District - Wear RED
Happy Weekend,
Mrs. Williams, Principal
Mrs. Mathis, Assistant Principal
Clinic News
Cold/Flu season is here! Let’s keep those germs away by covering our mouth when we cough/sneeze, avoid touching our eyes/nose/mouth as much as possible and always remember to wash our hands.
As another reminder, students must be free of fever/diarrhea/vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school.
Practicing good self-hygiene along with the tips listed above, help prevent germs and smells from being trapped inside classrooms.
The clinic is in need of undergarments for boys (size small and medium). Donations must be newly bought in original packing and are greatly appreciated! 😊
Thank you so much for keeping our school clean and safe!
February Counselor's Corner
Please read this Smore from our School Counselor, Ms. Bulino. You will find everything from classroom guidance lessons to parenting resources. Learn more about the January character trait: Cooperation. See below for the fun things we have planned for Friendship Week!
PE News
Keep up the good work Wellness Warriors! Our Calendar Challenge is still on-going. The December calendar has already been collected, so make sure that you are doing the daily activities for the January calendar. Reminder: January's calendar is due by the end of the first full week in February, February's calendar will be due by the end of the first full week in March, etc.
Student Absences
Parents/Guardians can add absence requests for students to indicate a day or range of days that they will not be in school. You will add absence requests via Skyward Family Access. If your child will be out sick for the day or will be gone due to a family vacation, you can enter an absence request to indicate these details. Here is a Step-by-Step Guide.
