On Monday, August 12, 2024, BASD welcomed 45 participants to our New Teacher Orientation. The participants included seven teachers who were full-time or part-time long-term substitutes (LTS) in 2023-2024 who have been hired into contracts for 2024-2025, a wide-array of teachers that started midway through 2023-2024 and now have the chance to participate, and our new hires, both contracted and LTS.

On Wednesday the 14th, mentors, school and district administrators, and this group of teachers came together for lunch and a chance to meet and greet. During introductions, the entire group was asked who was from Boyertown and had attended our schools. More than 50% of the group raised their hands. It was an inspiring moment!

The photo below captures a group of veteran teachers and administrators and new teachers who were former students - all from the same elementary building. How cool is that?!

• Region 2 - Borough of Boyertown (Voting precinct 2), Douglass Township (Berks County – Voting precincts 1 and 2), Douglass Township (Montgomery County – Voting precincts 1, 2, 3, and 4).

Dr. Davidheiser comes to us with 28 years of experience in public education. He has worked in Phoenixville School District, Central Bucks School District, and Lower Moreland Township School District. He recently retired from Lower Moreland after serving six years as Superintendent.

Dr. Davidheiser will serve as Substitute Assistant Superintendent while our Board of School Directors continues their Superintendent Search in partnership with the Berks County Intermediate Unit. Please join us in welcoming him to his new role.
