Dress Down Day
Monday, March 18th
Students are invited to dress out of uniform in green and gold for a donation to Sister Helen Food Pantry here in Lockport. DeSales 3rd grader, Josephine Wolck is a frequent volunteer at the food pantry and has requested this day to collect much needed food items.
We asked Josephine what inspired this request and she said, "So more people can have the food they need. We are running low on a lot of the things at the pantry."
The most needed items at the Sister Helen Food Pantry are:
*Pasta Sauce *Rice *Cereal *Peanut Butter *Jelly *Canned Fruit
All non-perishable food donations are welcome.

STREAM in Our Backyard!
DeSales students in grades 3, 4 & 5 enjoyed a field trip to the Historic Palace Theatre today to see Cinderella live on stage. This opportunity was made possible by a grant from the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. This grant title "STREAM in your Backyard" will bring students STREAM experiences found right here in Lockport. Next week we will welcome the Challenger Learning Center with the Mobile Planetarium. All students in preschool through grade 8 will enjoy a spectacular planetarium show.

Please remind your guest that there is parking (including handicap spots) in the upper parking lot for guests that have difficulty with stairs. They can enter through the door in this upper area and will be asked to sign in.
Kindergarten , 1st & 2nd Grade Generation Celebration
Wednesday, May 1st
Please ask your child's grandparents & special senior friends to save the date. Students in Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade will be inviting these guests to share a Mass with them. We will request grandparent information to mail invitations in early April.
Progress Reports
Progress reports will be available on e-school Friday, March 15.
Eclipse Glasses
We are officially ready for the Solar Eclipse on April 8th thanks to the Niagara County Legislature & Economic Development Center and Legislator, Rick Abbott. This morning Mr. Abbott delivered Eclipse shades for all of our students!
Mr. Abbott is no stranger to DeSales, he is a proud graduate of DHS Class of 1970 and a Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee!
With our new Eclipse shades we are ready to watch this exciting historic event! In the next few days your child's Eclipse glasses will be coming home.
DeSales Family Reading Night & Science Fair
We are planning a Science Fair here at DeSales in conjunction with our Family Reading Night on April 23rd. Stay tuned, more details to come.

Living Stations of the Cross at DeSales
On Wednesday, March 27th at 9:40am, DeSales 6th & 7th grade students, directed by Mr. Paul Schuster, will enact the Living Stations of the Cross. Mrs. Jackie Davis and the DeSales Cantors will provide the music. All are welcome to join us as we remember the Passion of Christ.
Easter Break
There will be no school March 28th - April 8th 2024. School will resume on Tuesday, April 9th 2024.
Annual Teacher Appreciation Golf Tournament
Save the Date!
Our annual Teacher Appreciation Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, July 29th at the Lockport Town & Country Club. Registrations will be open in mid-June.
Early registrations will be encouraged as this event sold out early last year.

Community Happenings
The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier’s Summer Day Camp is open to girls and boys ages 5-12 years old. Our camp will run 8 week long sessions starting on July 1st – August 23rd, 2024. Part-time is available. Our staff has integrated themes which incorporate arts and crafts, sports and recreation, dramatic arts and hands-on activities. Follow this link to find out how to register.
