Google Slides gets a Pen tool!
After all these years, Google Slides is finally getting one too! It was just announced last week with rollout beginning on August 10 or 23 (depending on your domain), so I don't see it yet in either my personal or school account (FCS is a scheduled release domain).
You can see more info in this article: Annotate your Slideshow in Google Slides
The video below also demos it for you!
Ditch your Edge!
As your default browser, that is!
A common complaint I've heard from teachers as I travel around the district is that Chrome is no longer set as their default browser and when they click on links in email, they open in Edge instead of Chrome. Luckily, it is super-easy to get that taken care of!
- Click the Windows key on your keyboard.
- Type the word "Default." You will see "Default Apps" appear as an option.
- Double-click to open your Default Apps.
- Scroll down to Internet and change your browser to Chrome.
- It will ask if you want to try out Edge - say "Switch anyway."
That's it! Repeat this on your panel too!
CANVAS CORNER: Explaining the difference between Google Cloud & Google LTI Assignments
I've gotten a lot of questions asking about the difference between the two different types of External Tool > Google assignments, where the intent is to provide students with a template and each student gets their own copy of the template to be edited and returned to the teacher.
Because of that, I thought it would be a good idea to create and share THIS INFOGRAPHIC that provides a general overview of the differences. Over the next few weeks, I'll create others that explain each type of assignment in more depth.
