Madrona Newsletter
January 7, 2024
Dear Madrona Community,
Happy New Year and welcome to 2025! I hope you had a joyful and restful holiday season with your family and loved ones. As we return from the break and settle into the new year, I am filled with excitement and optimism for the months ahead. January is always a time for fresh beginnings, and we are ready to continue building on the wonderful progress our students have made so far this school year.
As I reflect on the first half of the school year, I am proud of the dedication and hard work demonstrated by our students, staff, and families. Our students have shown incredible growth in both academics and personal development, and this is thanks to the support and collaboration of our entire school community. Whether it's through their curiosity in the classroom or their kindness and respect toward one another, they are truly blossoming into confident learners and compassionate individuals.
As we move forward into 2025, there are several exciting opportunities for our students and families to engage in our community:
- Upcoming Events: We will be hosting some fun and engaging school-wide events. On January 16th, we will host our Multilingual Family Engagement Meeting at 2:00 pm and then our 3rd Grade Family Night at 5:00 pm.
- Math/Reading Tutoring: Mrs. Poux and Ms. Hansen are recruiting tutors for our upcoming Tutoring program. This program is set to begin on January 7th for identified students.
- I-Ready Club: Invitations for our I-Ready club will be sent home this week for our Tier 2 students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. This club will begin on January 13th and occur on Mondays from 2:45 - 4:00 pm. Ms. Hoyt and Ms. Ebony, and a few volunteers will run this club for our community.
None of this would be possible without the strong support from you, our parents and guardians. Your involvement in your child's education and your ongoing partnership with our staff make all the difference in creating a positive and thriving school environment. Please know that we are always here to support you and your child, so don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
As we embark on this new year, I encourage everyone to approach each day with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity for growth and learning. Together, we can ensure that every child at Madrona continues to reach their full potential and experiences the joy of learning each day.
Thank you again for your continued support. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together in 2025!
Warm regards,
Regina Carter
Proud Principal of Madrona Elementary School

Madrona Yearbook
Madrona Year Book 24-25 School Year
Again this year, we are partnering with Treering to prepare our yearbook. This will allow us to capture memories of our school year and each individual student's growth across the year.
Just like last year, every student will be able to personalize 2 free pages with photos and selected memories they would like to capture in their own book. This is not mandatory, but it is an option families can choose. If you choose to purchase the custom pages, you must order your book by May 2nd, 2025.
Here's the information you will need to order your book. First, create your free account on the website: www.treering.com/validate. Enter our school passcode: 101696453284409. You can order your book for $21.88 until May 16th, 2025.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at sjwalker@seattleschools.org. We're looking forward to building an epic yearbook with you this year!
