Marysville Message
May 17th, 2024
Dear Marysville Families,
We are beginning the last four weeks of the school year. There is still a lot of learning and activities planned for the remainder of the year. We look forward to everyone continuing the strong focus, work and community care that make Marysville a wonderful place to be.
Thank you to the students for doing their best on the end of year standardized tests and for helping to keep the hallways quiet and distraction free to create a beneficial testing environment.
It is always our goal at Marysville to promote a safe and respectful school. We expect all students to do their best to keep the building safe, treat everyone in the building respectfully and keep the learning free of distractions. Students demonstrating unsafe behavior and disrupting the building will be accountable for making a community repair. We know that everyone is learning and growing, so when things happen we use restorative practices to rebuild our community of care.
We have some wonderful events coming up for the end of May.

Successful Schools Survey Continues
Dear Families,
Please support our school by taking time to fill out the Successful Schools Survey. This survey is a tool for us to collect your valuable input and feedback regarding how we can best serve our students and improve our school community. The survey is completely anonymous.
Our goal this year is to reach 80% survey completion rate amongst our families. Students are working towards school incentives such as a pajama day and a dessert party if we are able to reach this goal.
If you have any questions about the survey, please visit this website or reach out to our front office.
The survey will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese and Chinese.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your perspective and feedback.
Portland Public Schools Levy
After some questions, we want to clarify that the current levy funds 6 teaching positions at Marysville for the 2024-25 school year. If the levy is renewed, it would continue to fund teaching positions at every school (approximately 660 positions annually over five years) beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
