Mustang Flyer
August 8, 2024
~ Notes From Mrs. Richardson ~
Dear Mountain Park Families,
We've had an incredible first week of school! Each Thursday afternoon, you'll receive our school newsletter, The Mustang Flyer. The flyer is full of helpful information about great things happening in our school, upcoming events, and important announcements from the district. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see our business partners. These local businesses have committed to supporting our students and staff throughout the school year in various ways. Be sure to mention MPE if you utilize their services!
I typically include a few fun photos from the week in the flyer. Enjoy these First Week of School smiles from both students and teachers!
I encourage you to mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 14. At 9:30 AM, Katha Stuart, our District 1 Board of Education representative will host her final community meeting right here at Mountain Park. We are planning a celebration to thank her for 9 years of service and commitment to the students of Mountain Park and Fulton County Schools. We are also collecting handwritten notes of appreciation to be presented at the community meeting. If you'd like to include a note, please drop it off at the front office before Wednesday, August 13.
Thank you,

🚗 Transportation Reminders 🚗
If for some reason you have not registered with Pick Up Patrol and need a registration link, please send an email to Shannon Anderson at Andersons5@fultonschools.org. Remember, you must submit all transportation changes using the app. The default transportation will be how they normally go home. If your student normally goes home a certain way, there’s no need to enter it on that day. Plan changes are only for when it differs from the default plan. Also, if you need a carpool or walker number, email andersons5@fultonschools.org or call the front office. Thanks so much!
Student Success Skills/ReThink Ed
Student Success Skills are Fulton County School's standards for the skills needed to demonstrate mastery of academic and interpersonal skills needed for college, career, and life success. These six skills are taught in all schools, by all teachers, to all students. Each skill has corresponding standards across grade levels. Attached below you will find a parent information packet, which includes how parents may access the ReThink Ed platform and gain access to the resources. If you have any questions about SSS please contact our school counselor, Courtney Daniel at danielc3@fultonschools.org
2024-2025 Student Code of Conduct
All parents are asked to review the 2024 Student Code of Conduct with their children. All parents and students over the age of 10 are asked to complete a digital attestation of review through the parent portal in Infinite Campus. The documents are found under the "Needs Attention" tab. Instructions are included below. I encourage you to review this Code of Conduct Video with your student to discuss and reinforce expectations for positive behavior at school.

The Drama Club Announces the 2024/2025 MPE Production!
Creative Minds Art Club
In the Creative Minds Art Club, we champion the artist in everyone. Our mission is to inspire confidence in artistry and reveal the magic of creation.
Students will come into a WORKING ARTIST STUDIO where they will learn techniques for their OWN creations. Some projects will be teacher-led, but the goal is to allow students to find their inspiration and create from there — we value process and experimentation over final products, because that’s where real learning and creativity lie.
Classes are limited to 10 so that each student receives 1:1 time working on their projects.
In the Creative Minds Art Club, it’s more than just an art project, you'll leave with a sense of accomplishment and newfound confidence.
