Springdale Schools CTE News Update
Students explore career pathways
HBHS Students Want to Groom Your Pet!
Services are provided by donation, the proceeds from which benefit the schools Future Farmers of America program and will be used to purchase grooming supplies and to help pay for student dog grooming certifications.
Donations may be made after services have been provided, in case students are unable to accomplish a task.
Dogs must be up to date on their vaccines to participate in this activity, and participants must complete one Google form for each dog to be signed up for services.
Dogs may be dropped off at the school in the morning and may be picked back up at the end of the day.
Champion Broilers
Cavitt's birds made the premium sale, and she won a $250 college scholarship and some cash for her bank account.
Thanking Community Partners
Thank you to Cobb-Vantress of Siloam Springs for allowing two different Har-Ber High School poultry science classes to tour their Quality Testing Laboratory.
Students learned about disease testing for birds and were able to see real-world poultry scientists and technicians at work.
Pet-Certified Wildcats
Har-Ber High School's three veterinary science classes spent the first nine weeks of the school year working on the Fear Free Pet Certification for veterinary professionals.
Seventy students completed the program Oct. 27 and received their certifications that day!
The students are now qualified to work at vet clinics as kennel attendants and vet assistants, can work at any grooming business as an assistant and are qualified to work with any companion animal business.
Moments in Creative Education
Thank you to teachers Michael Tapee of Hellstern Middle School, Greg Simpson, Milan Jilka, Patti Priest and Jonathan Roberts of Har-Ber High School and Brittney Davis and Rachelle Moore of Springdale High School for opening your classrooms for gathering creative economy photos.
The Communications Office is still seeking photo opportunities for public art, culinary arts, robotics, graphic design, visual arts, engineering, agriculture, choir, computer science, drafting, architecture, theater, band, construction, welding, orchestra, dance or any other creative class in support of a series of upcoming stories on the creative economy.
Be sure to stop by the Springdale Public Schools website Wednesday, Nov. 1 to read the first article in the "Growing Creative Opportunity" story series.
Teachers interested in having the Communications Office come out to take photos of their class are encouraged to contact Mary Jordan at mjordan2@sdale.org.
