GRADUATING SENIORS
Science Class
In science class, students took on the challenge of designing a device to protect an egg from breaking when dropped from a height. This hands-on project not only tested their engineering skills but also delved into important concepts like Newton's laws of motion and the interplay between potential and kinetic energy.

SCIENCE CLASS
In Ms. Berard's class, students participated in a summative activity on the atmosphere and water cycle. They learned about how water filters through layers in a terrarium, like moss, roots, soil, charcoal, and gravel. They also discussed how terrariums can sustain themselves. Through this project, they discovered how nature works together to create balance and how important it is to take care of our planet.
WATER CONSERVATION AND RENEWABLE ENERGY
Students participated in an assembly on water conservation and renewable energy. They discovered that water is essential for various activities, such as drinking and agriculture, but it's limited and must be protected. They also found that simple measures like repairing leaks and reducing shower times can help save water significantly. Through a hands-on activity, they explored clean and sustainable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydroelectric power as alternatives to fossil fuels.
Environmental Green Assembly
In the Environmental Green assembly students discovered the endangered status of milkweed, recognizing its crucial role for monarch butterflies. Monarchs depend on milkweed as the sole plant for egg laying and nourishment of their caterpillars. Understanding this relationship, students engaged in crafting monarch butterfly feeders to support their conservation efforts that will be hung in the courtyard.
Art Institute of Chicago
Hopewell students visited the Art Institute of Chicago to explore contemporary and modern exhibits. While there, they enjoyed various art forms including; sculpting, stained glass, water color, oil painting, sketching, and meta work.
TRANSITION CORNER
Exploring Cities: Finding Your Ideal Place to Live

They looked at Median Home Price, Median Income, Monthly Rent, Crime Ranking, and Minimum Annual Income to match their budget and lifestyle. It was a cool way for them to learn about the cost of living, explore various communities, and make informed decisions based on individual finances and needs.
Public Transportation
Students are practicing how to navigate public transportation, an invaluable skill that helps them become more independent and self-sufficient. They are learning how to read schedules, identify stops and stations, transit safety, and pay fares. following Students are gaining confidence in using public transportation and can access opportunities within their community.
