Hello Families
Everything we do in school is based upon students being present for their learning day. Beadle Lake held attendance meetings at the end of January for some families. The meetings are set up as brainstorming sessions to develop supports for students that are missing chucks of learning time. If you received a letter, we appreciate your support.

Fourth Grade
Sharon Waltman - Hello Beadle Lake Families! My name is Mrs. Waltman, and I am a fourth grade teacher at Beadle Lake. I have had the privilege of teaching all grades, Kindergarten through 4th grade. I was fortunate to spend eight years working as the Title I teacher and Instructional Coach. All of my 30 years have been at Beadle Lake. At one point in my teaching career, I served as a teacher leader with Mrs. Migliaccio for four years. We worked together to support literacy instruction. During this time, I was teaching 2nd grade with Ms. Schwarz. Some extracurricular activities I have been involved with are coaching freshman cheerleading and working on the yearbook. Last year, I hosted a looming club for 4th grade students, and WE really enjoyed spending time together crafting. I love going to see students at events outside of school so I can learn more about their passions. Some of my hobbies include spending time with family and friends, photography, gardening and genealogy.
I truly have enjoyed my time at Beadle Lake working with fellow teachers to offer the best possible learning environment for students. I have also met some wonderful families and students (some will be friendships for a lifetime). This will be my last year teaching, and I am looking forward to the “next chapter” of my story!
Sunny Boyer -Hellooo Beadle Lake families! My name is Sunny Boyer, and I knew from the time I was a little girl that I wanted to be a teacher! I pursued my dream by starting at KCC and graduating from Olivet College. I went back to school a few years later and received my master's degree in educational leadership.
I began my career in Bellevue where I taught for twenty years. During my time in Bellevue, I taught fourth grade for ten years and third grade for ten years. I served on multiple committees and leadership teams as well as volunteering a lot of my time.
In 2021 I made the switch to come and teach at Beadle Lake. I’ve been teaching fourth grade since I’ve been here, and I LOVE teaching this grade level! Beadle Lake has been a wonderful place to work!
I’ve been married to my husband Brent for 22 years. We have two sons. Our son Boe attends KCC, and our son Griffin is a junior at Bellevue Community Schools, which is also the community where we live.
I love taking day trips and traveling with my family and friends. My husband and I enjoy trail riding with our side-by-sides. I also enjoy reading, decorating, trying new recipes, going for walks, and I also wish I could be a better gardener! I’m a constant work in progress!
Lacey Wilkins - Happy February! My name is Lacey Wilkins, and I teach 4th grade at Beadle Lake. This is my first year at Harper Creek and my first-year teaching fourth grade. I have been teaching for 22 years. I spent the first eight years teaching at Arbor Academy and the last thirteen years at Pennfield. All of those years were spent in third grade. I live in the community with my husband and our youngest daughter. She attends the Middle School. Our oldest daughter graduated from Harper Creek and lives in the Novi area. I enjoy being outside, spending time with family and friends, and reading. I look forward to getting to know more students and families here at Beadle Lake.

Friendly February with Mrs. Ledbetter
Greetings BLE Families & Loved Ones!
This month we're focusing on "Friendly February" and we plan to model being intentionally kind to others, aware of our interactions with others, and committed to making our relationships healthier with our peers, family members, teachers, and friends. Taking some time to connect with conversation starters at dinner, or going around in a circle to answer a daily question are great ways to connect. As always, thank you for all you do to foster your child's education, not only academically, but socially and emotionally at home as well.
Your Partner In Education,
Mrs. Ledbetter

Dear Families,
I would like to share with you all more information about our new English Language Arts Curriculum, Amplify CKLA. This is a skills AND knowledge building curriculum. I am sending the link to the parent HUB that will allow you to view curriculum materials and help your child log on to their learning HUB at home. Students can practice reading their readers at home AND practice new vocabulary.
All you have to do is go to this website and it will walk you through the easy steps.

As I stated in January, EVERY day in Grades DK–2, students complete one full lesson that builds foundational reading skills, as well as one full lesson that builds background knowledge. In Grades 3–4, students start to master the skills of reading, further opening up their worlds. Each day’s lesson builds on the last, where knowledge acts as velcro and new knowledge attaches and connects to previous knowledge. We want our students to make connections and applications in their learning each and every day.
Happy Learning!

Beadle Lake Elementary Behavior Update ...
Huge shoutout to 3rd graders at BLE who only had 3 referrals and 1st graders who only had 6 referrals for the whole month of December! We're SO proud of you for using safe and respectful problem solving skills to keep issues and disagreements small. Keep it up!
We've seen the highest number of referrals happening on Mondays in our building, so grown-ups if you could go over the L.E.A.D. Expectations at dinner or before bed each Sunday evening or as you eat breakfast and get ready together Monday morning before school as a good reminder, we'd be so grateful. Together we can set kiddos up for success each week at school!
