Hembree Springs Summer Scoop
Message from Ms. Lahey
July 19, 2024
Greetings Hembree Families,
Did you know that teachers and staff report back to work in 10 days?!! I am very excited to see everyone again. There is a lot of work to do over the summer, but the building is more lively and exciting once it is filled with staff and students.
On July 10th, I met with the administrative team to plan out the year. We also had the opportunity to connect. After our meeting, we played trivia in Alpharetta and had a blast! We came in second place. Our Instructional Leadership Team, which consists of our admin team and our grade level leaders, had a planning meaning on July 15th at Main Event. We had the chance to talk business, but we also competed against each other for a team building opportunity. We had so much fun! I am terrible at bowling, so it was very humbling.
Our Open House is scheduled for Friday, August 2nd. Last names beginning with A-L should come between 8:00 AM-9:30 AM and last names beginning M-Z should come between 9:30-11:00 AM. This will help ensure we have adequate parking for our families.
I have received a few questions regarding school supplies for the upcoming year. Last year we housed the school supplies in a central location to ensure we had an adequate amount of everything we needed for the year. We will do that again this year since it worked very well. Some supplies, such as headphones, will be kept with each child in the classroom. The PTA is offering a deal for those of you who would like an easier way to purchase school supplies for your student. Donate $65 (per student) to the PTA instead and they will take care of the supplies for you. This is what it would cost to purchase the kits the PTA provided in the past. If this option interests you, please donate using the link: https://hembreespringselementary.givebacks.com/store?limit=21&live=true
Please specify "school supplies" in the Donation Field of Recognition. Thank you for supporting the PTA.
I hope you enjoy your last two weeks of summer break. I can't wait to see our students soon.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Nancy Lahey
Principal

Playdate in the Park
📌 SAVE THE DATE! The PTA is hosting a playdate Saturday, Aug. 3 at Hembree Park playground. From 10 a.m. to noon, stop by and let the kids run around while you socialize! It's a great way to reconnect and meet new HSES families as we all get ready for the 2024-25 school year. We'll be at the playground at the rear of the park, and the pavilion is reserved. (NOTE: this is not at Hembree Springs! It is at the park across the street.)
📌 ¡RESERVA!
