LFHS Foundation Pitch Night Showcases Student Entrepreneurship
Following a year of hard work, four Business Incubator student groups advanced to the LFHS Foundation Pitch Night, held in the RMA on May 22. Each group presented their business ideas to potential investors and fielded questions from the judges. The four companies vying for the top investment prize were:
Safe Sorella: A discreet necklace with a silent panic button, aimed at enhancing safety for female college students
Athlattic: A website for reselling second-hand sports equipment within the LFHS community
ParkingPal: An app for renting driveways near LFHS for student parking
Velox Photography: A service connecting student athletes with skilled student photographers
In the end, Velox was awarded the Pitch Night Championship Cup and a $5000 investment, while Parking Pal took home the Best Pitch Award. Congratulations to all those who competed this year and we hope to see you on an upcoming episode of Shark Tank!
LFHS Wellness Walk: A Break to Breathe
On Monday, May 20, LFHS held its annual Wellness Walk, giving students and staff a much-needed break during the busy end-of-year period. Participants enjoyed a loop around the campus and neighboring areas, followed by wellness activities, food, music, and time with friends. Established in 2010 and annual since 2016, the Wellness Walk is a cherished tradition promoting relaxation and fun.
Student Masterpieces on Display at LFHS AP Art Show
Recently, the LFHS Commons was transformed into a gallery as 30 of our talented AP Art seniors displayed their exceptional work. From pottery to photography, painting to design, and mixed media, their creativity shone brightly. The community was invited to attend the Opening Reception on May 22, while students, faculty, staff, and visitors have been able to enjoy the works all week long.
Seniors Reflect on LFHS Days Before Graduation
Last week, members of the Class of 2024 joined Superintendent Dr. Matthew L. Montgomery for his Senior Roundtable. The informal conversation provided students with a unique opportunity to reflect on their time at Lake Forest High School. The seniors’ perspectives on academics, extracurricular activities, milestones, and challenges will have a direct impact on future decisions made by school administrators, shaping student life for future Scouts.
