Happy 2023!! New year, same amazing choir!!

We hope you had a wonderful and restful break and are ready to dive into music making this week. There is much to do as we work on Solos in preparation for our in class performances and UIL Solo & Ensemble; as well as, tackling sight reading skills and repertoire in preparation for UIL later this spring.

• Solo Project: Singers have chosen their solos for our Solo Project / Solo & Ensemble taking place in January. All singers should have their solo selected.

We are excited to host Region 31 Solo & Ensemble Contest on Saturday, February 4th, at CHS. This is a great opportunity for all students to grow as musicians and performers, while also getting individual feedback from a judge! Please fill-out the registration form below by Wednesday, January 4th.

Audition Dates:

• Area: January 7th

We are so excited to start the UIL preparation in January. All ensembles will participate in Pre-UIL on March 22nd and 23rd (During Class).

Ensembles participating in UIL:

• Treble A & B: Sub Non Varsity Treble Choir
• Tenor-Bass: Non Varsity Tenor-Bass Choir
• Chorale: Only participating in Pre-UIL
• Kantorei: Non Varsity Treble Choir
• A Cappella Treble: Varsity Treble Choir
• A Cappella: Varsity Mixed Choir

All singers in Chorale are eligible to submit audition videos to participate with Kantorei as Non-Varsity Treble Choir for UIL.

On Thursday, December 1st, all CHS Choir students performed the choral masterwork, Gloria by Vivaldi. Students have been rehearsing this music for many weeks and their hard work paid off with a wonderful performance!
