Bus Topology

About the Bus Topology:
The Bus Topology is the simplest of topologies. A signal from the source is broadcasted and it travels to all workstations connected to a bus cable. The central cable is the backbone of the network and is known by Bus.
Advantages: A bus topology doesn't cost very much, the bus topology is easy to set up, linear Bus network is mostly used in small networks, cable length required for this topology is least compared to other networks.
Disadvantages ( drawbacks): Security is very low because all the computers receive the sent signal from the source, it is not suitable for networks with heavy traffic, it is difficult to detect a fault in the network, there is a limit on central cable length and number of nodes that can be connected, efficiency of Bus Network reduces as the number of devices connected to it increases.
