What happened ?
Diane Nash along with other students would walk into Nashville stores and sit down at the counter and ask for service. They would sit down for long periods of time and they would keep asking for service. They were trained to get things poured over there heads, get beaten, and even drugged out of the store. After the store clerk would call the police that group would get up and leave then a another group of students would go in and do the same thing. Those students wouldn't leave without getting served.

This all happened from 1959 through 1961
Where ?
The sit ins happened in Down Town Nashville, Tennessee.
Why did this happen ?
This happened because all the students that were involved wanted the colored people to get the same treatment and service as the whites do.
