Supplies
Many students are now carrying around broken binders and folders. If you get a chance, please check in with your child to see if they need a new one.

This week students picked one of four projects to research. Tomorrow they will present their findings to the class. The groups are expected to speak for two and half minutes while incorporating at least eight vocabulary words from our Genetics unit in their explanations. Next week we will review Genetics and take a test on either Wednesday or Thursday. They will receive a study guide.

Hello families,
This week 2/5 to 2/9 we completed our I-Ready diagnostic assessment.
Math 7 will continue with integers as we work on multiplying and dividing. While Math 8 is still continuing to analyzing functions and non functions.
All grade 7 students are expected to pass their third I-Ready lesson for term 3 (19 total) as well as their weekly homework worksheet that will be given on Monday and due Thursday 2/15.
Also homework assignments will not be accepted two weeks after the due date. So students who haven’t turned in homework from 1/29 to 2/2, this is their last week to turn in that assignment.

This week the scholars learned about the Chinese Philosophies. The scholars learned that teachings of Lao-Tzu and how he believed that people were born neutral and should seek inner peace. The scholars learned that Confucius believed that people were born good, and that talented people should be in government. The scholars went to the library to research their topic for their summative paper. Next week in individuals and societies the scholars will learn about the Qin and Han Dynasties.
