Growing a Reader
Fall Into Reading
There is still time to enter!
Our Themes have been & will be:
- Read while wearing your favorite color (Oct 7-11)
- Read outside (Oct 15-18)
- Make a fort and read inside (Oct 21-25)
- Dress in your favorite character or non-scary costume (Oct 28-Nov 1)
- Read and illustrate (draw) a picture about the story (Nov 4-8)
- Read with a hat or crazy hair (Nov 12-15)

Growing a Reader! - Reading at ISWA
ISWA is committed to helping our families develop our students into strong readers.
Here are several resources we provide:
- · Amira – we are seeing so much growth in our students who are using this program consistently and as designed. Please encourage your students to read 2 stories with Amira three days each week. This program is available every day even on days we don’t have school. Login https://www.hmhco.com/ui/login
- · Big Universe – Another online source for reading – students get to choose the stories. Log in from student’s school platform
- · Living or Real books - We have included several great stories in your children’s curriculum, but your local library is another great resource. Reading 20 min each day aloud with or to your student will build vocabulary, fluency, reading comprehension and a love of reading. Winter is a wonderful time to start snuggling up with your student(s) and a great book. Here are a few suggestions:

Registration for the K12 Robotics League opens October 1 - December 16, 2024.
The K12 Robotics League is open to K12-powered students in grades 4-12.
Team Instructor/Schools will register students in teams of 1-3 students and purchase the Cogmation software for the K12 Robotics League.
