Wildcat Weekly News
#iamworkman
Happy Friday, Wildcats
We have had a wonderful week of learning and growing here at Workman. Thank you to all of our Kindergarten parents who were able to attend the field trip to the Fire Station. The students had an amazing time touring the firehouse and learning about fire safety.
We still have many families who have not completed the district back-to-school check-in. The deadline has been extended one more week to next Friday, November 1. To assist you, there’s a comprehensive video guide available on the district website. You can also access it by clicking the link below.
Have a great weekend, and as always, please contact Mrs. Johnson or Mrs. Sturdy if you have any questions or concerns.
Wildcats of the Month - October!
Congratulations to our Wildcat students and staff of the Month. Thank you, Wildcats, for being safe, respectful, responsible and kind.
From The Office
Dismissal Changes
If dismissal plans change for your student during the school day, please contact the office staff at 734-582-6700 with the changes. While we understand that plans can change without much notice, it is best to provide this information as soon as possible and prior to dismissal to allow for this information to be given to teachers before students are dismissed.
Cold Weather Gear
The goal is to have students go outside for recess each day. As long as the real feel temperature is 15 degrees or above, we will be going outside. Please make sure that your student has the appropriate outdoor gear to support their comfort while outside.
From the Library
The Haunted Library will be making a return appearance to the Workman Library on your child's library day, 10/18-10/25! The Library Witch (aka Mrs. Johnston) reads (slightly) spooky, fun stories to celebrate the season in the Haunted Library. Many students have been asking since the first week of school when the Haunted Library would return but if your child is at all uncomfortable or you would rather your child not participate for any reason, please let me know and they can participate in an alternate activity during library that week. Can't wait to share some good BOOOOO-ks! Mrs. Johnston (julie.johnston@pccsk12.com)
Workman Kindness Activities for October
Did you know that Workman Elementary does kindness activities each month? During the month of October, we are asking our community to support our Wildcats! Please see this information slide for ways to be part of our school-wide kindness activities for the month of October.
Halloween at Workman
Thursday, October 31st is a half day with dismissal at 12:10. All classes will be participating in our annual Halloween parade. October is Principal Appreciation Month, and P-CCS would like to recognize the fine work of our great principals. These building leaders usually come to school before everyone arrives and leave well after students and staff leave. They are charged with leading a large group of teachers and support staff, making sure that students are learning and parents are informed. This is a huge job, but our principals do it all effectively and efficiently with a smile. We encourage you to join us by thanking all of our principals this month
P-CCS is hiring! Support your local schools and community by filling one of our many open positions. The district needs teachers, paraprofessionals, security officers, food and nutrition services workers, crossing guards, and more.
