PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families,
This has been a wonderful week welcoming students back to our school. The beautiful weather has made our return to school particularly sweet, and as you can imagine we are reveling in the sunshine during our daily recess times!
Before Spring Break, the district sent an email with information regarding our upcoming CMAS testing to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families. All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes will be testing in the mornings of April 8th-15th (5th grade will test through April 19th). This makes on time arrival at school essential for a good start to the day!
At school, we heavily emphasize that a students' role during testing is to feel proud of themselves for their effort and hard work this year, and to feel confident that they are prepared to do their best. You can help your student best prepare for success on these assessments by encouraging them to get a restful night’s sleep, eat breakfast and bring a water bottle and a healthy snack to school.
If possible, please avoid scheduling any appointments that might impact these testing days. We want to minimize any extra time students will be pulled from class to complete make-up tests. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about CMAS testing.
Warmly,
Amanda
PS- Friday, March 28th is Eagle Crest Spirit Day! We encourage all students to wear an Eagle Crest shirt or even the color purple to celebrate this special day. 💜💛

DEAN OF STUDENTS’ UPDATE
Hello, Eagle Crest Families!
Tomorrow, we will celebrate a very special day at Eagle Crest—Mwebaza Day! This annual event gives us the opportunity to connect with our sister school in Uganda through a video call. Students will share songs, dances, and ask each other questions during the call. We will end the event with a “toast” of passion fruit juice (a staple in Uganda), which our students here always love!
Our connection to the Mwebaza Annex school continues throughout the year with our student club, STEM design challenges, common writing prompts, art connections, and shared blog posts through the Mwebaza Foundation. We love sharing this special global connection and working with community partners to make it happen. This work highlights how we are helping students be leaders and build a better world each day!
Tomorrow will also be an Eagle Crest Spirit Day! Students can wear any Eagle Crest shirt or even the color purple to celebrate this special day. 💜💛
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
P.S. - Families are welcome to join the video call from home with us at 8:50 AM tomorrow. Mwebaza Day Google Meet **To ensure a strong video connection for our friends in Uganda, we ask that you keep your video and sound off during the call.

Do you have a talent for numbers and a love of spreadsheets? PTO is looking for a volunteer assistant treasurer. This person would assist our current treasurer and president with budget development and reimbursements. This is a great (behind the scenes and on your own time) role. KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT
If you have a rising Kindergarten student or know a family with a child who will turn five before October 1st, now is the time to register for Kindergarten! Early registration allows us to plan effectively for teachers and resources by giving us a clearer picture of our incoming student numbers. We are also currently accepting students through open enrollment, so even if a family does not live within our immediate neighborhood, they may still apply to join our Eagle Crest community. To learn more and complete the enrollment process, visit SVVSD Enrollment. We are happy to offer Kindergarten tours—just contact the main office to schedule one. It’s always a joy to welcome new families to Eagle Crest!
