Inspiring Excellence: Allison Elementary Represent Districts with Distinction
Representatives of Allison Elementary presented this past Wednesday at the Title Con conference as Indiana's elementary winner for the 2024 National ESEA Distinguished School. Title Con brings together several hundred educators annually to learn and work together to improve student outcomes. Principal Jay Bedwell, home school advisor Dawn McGuire, instructional coach Tracy Young, and 4th grade classroom teacher Michelle Chasteen shared valuable insights into Allison Elementary's successful strategies, offering attendees practical ideas for enhancing student achievement, fostering a positive school culture, and implementing effective interventions in diverse educational settings.

Elementary Mathletes Have The Winning Equation
The IASP Department of Student Programs held the 29th Annual M.A.T.H. Bowl (Math Academic Teams for Hoosiers) competition this past Tuesday evening which took place at over 60 sites throughout the state. Speedway Schools hosted one of those sites at Carl G. Fisher Elementary welcoming 8 teams from local area schools. The MATH Bowl competition is a team event where three team members work cooperatively to answer eight questions while competing against team members from other schools. Our Speedway elementary schools represented very well, finishing 1st place (Newby Elementary- 24pts), 2nd place (Wheeler Elementary-19 pts), 3rd place (Fisher Elementary -16pts), and 5th place (Allison Elementary-13pts) in the local competition! Statewide results will be determined soon and released at www.iasp.org.
All Speedway Elementary Schools will be hosting a spring kindergarten round-up for children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2025.

This is an opportunity for the parent and child to visit the school, pre-register for fall 2025 and receive information about our kindergarten program. If you are unable to attend, please contact your elementary school for registration information.

· Immunization Records
· Lease or Mortgage (parent(s)/guardian AND child must be on the lease contract)
· Photo ID from parent enrolling student
To register, the student must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2025.
