The Weekly Highlander

We have officially made it to May! There are many events, concerts, and celebrations for students and staff and we are excited to share them with YOU!

This week is the much-anticipated Staff vs Student basketball game on Thursday, May 9th. There will be food trucks at 5 pm and the game starts at 6 pm with a halftime raffle to support the many programs sponsored by PTA. Student tickets will be $5 pre-sale with a permission slip and $10 at the door. Students wanting to purchase tickets at the door must have a permission slip or an adult to enter the game. There will also be opportunity drawings at halftime for some pretty amazing gift baskets, please go to hewespta.org to purchase your tickets before the game. The final component of the fun next week will be the Penny Wars contest. This fundraising activity will create a competition between grade levels and the winning grade level will go to lunch 10 minutes early next Friday, May 10th! All proceeds from these events will support the Hewes PTA and fund the many amazing programs at Hewes! See the flyers in this newsletter for details on all of the May Madness Activities!

The Hewes staff is recognizing HIGHLANDERS “H” FOR A DAY AWARD! Highlander for a Day is a program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments in the areas of Respect, Responsibility, and Results.
