Viking News - The Week of 5/27/2024

Happy Friday, RHS Students,
It was quite a week for the students and staff of RMHS! The entire school had the experience of a lifetime to wrap up the week with a surprise guest visit from RHS Alumni, Andrew Stanton. Andrew Stanton is most famous for being the creative force behind the Pixar films including (but not limited to), the Toy Story movies, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, and so many others! The students were able to hear his story and meet him over ice cream and student music on the back field this Friday afternoon. We cannot thank him enough for his willingness to come back to the school that helped raise him all those years ago. His story was inspirational for all of us and something we will never forget!
Beyond that, the athletic teams wrapped up their regular seasons last week with an array of senior events and celebrations. The seniors did not disappoint with a truly fantastic Senior Showcase this past Thursday evening. As we look towards the final week of school for our seniors, I want to take the moment to recognize, honor and appreciate everything that the Class of 2024 has done for our school community. I encourage you to take in the finals weeks to relish in the lifelong memories and friendships you have made along the way. The next two weeks will be a whirlwind, but enjoy every minute! Please be sure to check out the list of dates and deadlines below.
This coming week is the Underclass Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 29th at 8 am with the final day for seniors on Thursday, May 30th. Seniors, please remember that all obligations, including passing grades in all of your required classes, community service, class dues, outstanding books, etc. must be completed by Friday, May 31st in order to walk in the graduation ceremony.
The RHS Prom is taking place this coming Friday! A reminder that all students will depart from the school and ride the coach buses provided to the Black Swan in Georgetown. The promenade will take place in the GYM before buses depart for the venue on Friday evening. We look forward to an amazing night! 💃🕺
Here's to a great week ahead! 😎

Class of 2024:
Time to complete your Graduation Survey! The Guidance office needs some information from you regarding your future plans. Completion of the survey is a requirement in order to receive your cap and gown. Log into Naviance and complete the Graduation Survey to provide your future plans for after graduation (work, college, military, gap year, etc.). For those attending college, we also need to know your final choice so that we can send them your final transcript in late June. When you log into Naviance, the survey is listed on your home page as an "Important Task or To-Do". Alternatively, you can access it by clicking on "About Me" > "Surveys from my School".
