Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we move into our second month at school our students are settling in, perfecting their routines and embarking on new learning. October also brings many exciting events, Thanksgiving, a long weekend for students while staff complete professional development, and of course Halloween at the end of the month.
In addition to Flag Football club that started in September, October adds Chimes, Choir, and Grade 1-3 Basketball clubs. This month we also have student photo day, our first student picnic lunch in the gym organized by best coach Karen Riggs, our first hot lunch of the year, the return of the Brightwood Ranch program, a presentation from the fire department, and Parent Teacher Interviews.
Sneaking a glance into next month on November 1st, we have our first pancake breakfast of the year, combined with a Pajama Day. Also on November 6th we will have our school Remembrance Day Service starting at 10:30am. Parents are invited to attend, and all classes are preparing for the ceremony.
A few quick reminders,
- As it is now the wet and muddy season, please make sure your student has a dedicated pair of shoes for inside. This is not only important for keeping our school clean and safe, but to ensure they have proper footwear in case of a drill or emergency.
If you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to the school through the office or email me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal
