Bordeaux Elementary School
September 22, 2024
Dear Bordeaux Families -
Fall is upon us, though this weekend allowed for some late season sun to shine down. We are entering into the last full week of September.
Thank you to all the parent pick up people who have helped us implement a new system. Not only are the students getting connected with families sooner, the parking doesn’t have as much congestion. We have been getting most students loaded and on their way by 3:40. Remember that Kindergarten will continue to come out at 3:20, followed by 1st grade at 3:25 and everyone else at 3:30, which is the official ending time of school. You do not need to check with an adult with an iPad, but please make sure to connect with an adult before taking your student.
This Wednesday is another PLC Wednesday where students will be dismissed at 2:00.
Soccer starts this week. Students were selected using the wheel of names last week. These students were given yellow welcome letters with information about the soccer season. 1st grade starts Monday, followed by 2nd grade Tuesday, 3rd grade Wednesday and 4th grade Friday. There will be opportunities for parents to watch games at the end of the season, but we do ask that parents allow coaches to have the practice time only with the players. Younger siblings are also not allowed to stay due to supervision concerns.
Thank you to our PTSO for hosting our Popcorn and Playground event last Friday and for Mr. Wirzbicki and Mrs. Beutel for helping to facilitate while I had daughter ballet duties. Our next PTSO event will be Friday, October 4th for Books and BINGO.
Did you know that when students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating. Whether they plan to go on to college or take another path, missing less than 18 days a year increases students’ chances of graduating high school. Let those great attendance habits start this week since as always, it’s a great week to be a Bordeaux Bulldog!
