Rio Norte News - December 20, 2024
A Note From the Principal
Good Morning River Hawk Families,
And just like that, Semester 1 has come to a close! While the weeks may have flown by, we hope it’s been a rewarding experience for your student. We recognize that the transition from childhood to adolescence can be full of challenges, but we trust you’re witnessing growth as your teen navigates this transformative chapter in their life.
Be sure to check out the holiday spirit week section, where you’ll find a photo album showcasing some of our favorite moments this past week. Wednesday’s lunch time activity ended in the quad with an impromptu performance of dances the 8th graders just tested on in the PE dance unit. It brought the biggest smile to my face watching them! I’ve shared videos of the cupid shuffle and the chicken dance and trust me, it’s worth watching the pure fun and joy they shared as the music played! A huge thank you to Mrs. Welch for creating that special moment. And of course, don’t miss Mr. O’s unforgettable “Elfing Around” antics on our last day; it's a must-see!
Our staff is now officially on break and our office will be closed. Grades have now posted to Infinite Campus, but teachers will not be available for questions until our return on January 13th. We kindly and respectfully ask that you give them this time with their families.
As we bid farewell to 2024, I want to extend my warmest wishes to each of you. May this holiday season bring you joy, peace, and quality time with loved ones. Kindness, joy, and hope are the gifts that keep on giving. Here's to a 2025 filled with new opportunities, growth, and success for our River Hawk community!

Holiday Spirit Week at Rio
What a great festive atmosphere throughout our last week of the semester! Students and staff had great fun with the spirit days and events on campus. The week culminated with a visit from a mischievous elf (aka Mr. O our drama teacher), who went all over campus with fun little antics and tricks that made everyone, from students to staff members laugh and smile! Enjoy some pictures from the week in this photo album link. The videos of the students dancing in the quad cannot be missed!
