Full Week of School
Message from Mr. Burns
Hi Wims Families,
Welcome to March!
This month we have four consecutive weeks that should, hopefully, be uninterrupted (no early release days or days off). As with NCAA basketball, we can call it March Madness:)
During March, we begin our planning for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have a rising Kindergarten student, please see the link below to register. It is important that we try and have as many families register early so we can be appropriately staffed for the next school year. Thank you for your support!
Have a great week!
-Mr. Burns
Read Across America Week
Classroom teachers are looking for volunteers to read one book of your choice to their class. Most classroom teachers have chosen to have one or two readers every day from Monday, March 3- Friday, March 7, 2025. Find your child's teacher in this Google doc and click on the link to go to their schedule. Remember, third, fourth, and fifth grade students have one teacher in the morning and a different teacher in the afternoon. If you have questions about the schedule, please contact your child's teacher. You're welcome to bring a picture book from home or borrow one from the public library or Wims library. If you have questions about a book, please contact Mrs. Hall, our media specialist.
Kindergarten Registration is Open!
Kindergarten registration for 2025-2026 is now open. If you or someone you know has a child that will be 5 by September 1, 2025, please use the link below to complete the online registration.
If you have any questions regarding enrollment, please contact Mrs. Norton

From the PTA Board
Dear Wildcats,
We are looking forward to seeing you at our March PTA Meeting this coming Tuesday after last month’s weather cancellation. Please see below for more information on the meeting as well as how to join by Zoom if you are unable to attend in person.
Nominations for the next PTA President and Vice President for the term of 2025-27 are open through March 28. The PTA is an important part of Wilson Wims culture. It’s responsible for most school events, some of the assemblies enjoyed by our Wildcats, and appreciation events for our wonderful staff. But it also serves as a bridge between families and school administrators. It is a community where everyone is accepted. I am extremely proud of the PTA we have grown these last two years, built upon the foundation laid by the Presidents and PTA boards before this one. This is a call to dedicated parents or guardians who wish to continue this work. Prior experience, while helpful, is not necessary to serve as a PTA officer. We have created a family through friendships, amazing volunteers, and strong committee chairs, to support you each step of the way.
If you have made it to this point in the school year having not attended a meeting, it’s not too late to come and see what our PTA is all about. It is never too late to join - our membership form is open year-round on wwespta.org. All are welcome and we look forward to meeting you.
Have a wonderful week!
~ Ashley Zuraf, President
2024-25 School Year
S.T.E.A.M. EXPO: FRIDAY, MARCH 14 (5:30-7:30PM)
NOMINATIONS FOR 2025-27 EXECUTIVE BOARD: DUE MARCH 28
BINGO NIGHT: FRIDAY, APRIL 4 (5:30-7:30PM)
BOGO BOOK FAIR: APRIL 7 - 11
Join us for the final book fair of the 2024-2025 school year! All books (and other items) will be Buy One, Get One (equal or lesser valued item) FREE. To give our students the best book fair, we need volunteers. Please sign up HERE to volunteer for school day or evening hours. If we are unable to fill a timeslot, those shopping hours will have to be cancelled. School-day volunteers must have completed the online Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect Training via their ParentVUE account.
Now is the time to set up your students’ e-wallet. E-wallet is the easiest way to shop at the book fair and prevents your student from carrying cash. Visit the Wims Book Fair homepage to create an account. Any funds that are unused at the end of the book fair can be used to shop online or at the next book fair. When creating a new e-wallet for this BOGO fair, any leftover funds from the previous fair will be available to apply to your account. If you have any questions, please contact Danni Ibarra, Chair.
WIMS’ GOT TALENT VARIETY SHOW: FRIDAY, MAY 16
Registration for AUDITIONS is now open for the Wims’ Got Talent Variety Show at Hallie Wells on May 16! Past acts have included dance and cheer, martial arts, instrumental acts, singing, and even speed Rubix cubing! All talents are welcome, but auditions are mandatory. There are two audition dates to choose from: Monday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 8. Please be sure to select your preferred date on your registration form. The number of acts accepted may be limited to 24. Please click here to audition! If you have any questions about the Variety Show process, please contact Kaydene Johnson.
