HAPPY FRIDAY!

As a I reflect on two weeks of MCA testing, I am so proud of our students and staff. They embraced the opportunity to RISE UP and be their best. As a staff, we will look at scores, and learn from them, and get better at our jobs. In the moment, we get to look at kids, and see their effort, their attitude, and their character as they take on a very difficult challenge. This is what brings the most pride. Each Oak Crest Student is learning that they are capable of doing hard things. They have the ability to dig deep and do their best. They do not have to be scared, nervous, or embarrassed about trying their hardest. They are TIGER STRONG!

Thank you for encouraging kids to Rise Up, to prepare for success, and to care about their education!

Amundson Annual 5k and "Penny War" Fundraiser

May 2nd is our 26th Annual Amundson 5k Run.

Our students in grade 4-6 will run/walk a 5k. It is a traditional OC event that tests their perseverance, endurance, and mindset. Our kids always rise up to the occasion, have fun, and learn from this challenge. Parents are invited to attend as spectators or participants (with thier kid's permission).

Along with the run, it is our final fundraiser of the year. This year we are doing a Penny War from now until May 1st. The proceeds will go toward school events, our partnership with PeaceMaker MN, and towards Mental Health Initiatives at our school.

CAREER WEEK

We are excited to begin Career Week at Oak Crest on Monday. Throughout the week, students will participate in engaging, grade-level lessons through CareerTrek, exploring a variety of career paths and building awareness of future opportunities. We’ll also be welcoming guest speakers from a range of professions to share their experiences and inspire our students. To wrap up the week, Thursday will be Career Dress-Up Day—students are encouraged to come dressed as a career they’re interested in or admire. We look forward to a fun and educational week!

2025-26 School Supply Opportunity

Buying school supplies in August can be a a fun process, or an overwhelming one. At Oak Crest we offer an alternative to purchasing your supplies on your own for those interested. Summer School Update:

We have sent over 100 invitations for summer school out to families the past two weeks. We will be sending more next week. If you receive an invite, please register as soon as you can. Summer school has limited spots available and is a great chance to continue learning routines and get a little extra academic attention for students working on grade level skills. Registration closes on May 1.

We have great teachers leading this program and they make it impactful, but also a ton of FUN!
