~ I have 2 beautiful granddaughters: Penelope age 3 and Isabella age 1.

Principal's Corner

Can you believe we are in week six of school already? I am amazed! As I walk the hallways and through the classrooms, I have observed outstanding teaching and learning taking place. Hopefully, your student is able to communicate all they are learning in the classroom daily.

As you already know, we have some very important resources for communication between school and home. Your student should have a student planner, and assignments should be written in the planner daily. We also have an online gradebook where you can monitor your student’s grades at your convenience. If you do not know your login or password, please contact Christy Sudderth via email at csudderth@plainview.k12.ok.us . She will be happy to help you.

You should have received scores at this point from our NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing completed over the last few weeks of school. Please review the data, and if you have an academic concern regarding your student, schedule a phone or virtual conference with the classroom teacher. The classroom teacher can always provide suggestions to you in assisting your student to excel academically.

Even though the year looks different, our desire is to continue to provide students with all the normal opportunities. We are working on Red Ribbon Week for the end of October and our annual Scholastic Book Fair in November. I continue to look forward to all of the wonderful events which take place at Plainview Intermediate and appreciate your partnership in helping us continue to excel.

A huge THANK YOU to our students, parents, teachers, and staff. You all are doing an amazing job at wearing masks and following safety procedures. I am proud of each of you! We have now completed six weeks of school, and I feel strongly this is because you all are doing the right thing for yourself and others. Kudos to you all! Keep up the fabulous job.
