Family Update
October 20, 2024
Greetings Families,
Monday- Be proud to be healthy and drug free! Wear RED as a reminder to stay drug free.
Tuesday- Our future is too bright for drugs! Wear sunglasses and/or neon clothing.
Wednesday- Follow your dreams and say no to drugs! Wear comfy clothes or pjs. (no slippers, please)
Thursday- Team up against drugs, peer pressure, and bullying! Wear your favorite team gear or Holly Hall blue!
PINK OUT DAY FRIDAY to raise breast cancer awareness! Wear your pink!
This Friday is our annual PTO Trunk or Treat Event! Our Candy Monster is still accepting donations of candy to use for this event. All candy donations are appreciated! PLUS, students earn gold coins for their class from PTO for each bag of candy that is donated!
Two-tenths of a point!!! SOOOOOO CLOSE!!!!! For those of you who may not know me that well, I tend to be a little (or a lot) competitive... While we were ahead of the middle and high school attendance averages for the month of September, we fell 0.2 short of the elementary school average. Let's stay strong for October!
We need your help, please:
There have been a couple of new trends at HHES that we are seeking family help with addressing:
- Students should not have stamps or face paint unless for a spirit day. Even when there is a spirit day, the fun should not distract from learning.
- Students are arriving to school with outside breakfast items. HHES provides a free breakfast to all students. If not eating breakfast from HHES, we ask students to enjoy their breakfast at home.
- Water bottles are always encouraged. There is a filter at the water fountain for refills. Please do not send students to school with slurpees, coffee, or sodas.
- What may start out as "playing," quickly turns into pushing and/or someone being upset. Please help us remind students to keep their hands to themselves. Even though something may have begun as "playing," consequences may occur.
We welcome any feedback or recommendations. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Thank you!
Feed the Candy Monster!
Please help support our Trunk or Treat by sending in your favorite candy! If you include your child's name and teacher's name, that classroom will earn pirate coins for their class!

From our Judy Center Partners!
Holly Hall is fortunate to be a Judy Center School!
The Judy Center supports children and their families from birth through age 5. We are collecting information about children not currently enrolled in school who would benefit from this program. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey attached. Thank you!

Supporting our public schools...
On 10/22/24, the NAACP will host a candidate forum at Elkton High School beginning at 6:00 PM. All candidates for local office have been invited to participate.
Local elections have a significant impact on our schools. Please make an effort to learn about the candidates running for local office and support and vote for those that are committed to supporting public education in Cecil County!
