Saints and Scholars News
Parent/Guardian Edition - September 13th, 2024
Dear Sacred Heart Families,
We are excited that Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15th, a time for our school community to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Throughout this month, students will engage in various activities to learn about the diverse traditions and values that have shaped our world, while also reflecting on the importance of inclusion and unity.
We encourage you to join us in embracing this special time by discussing with your children the significance of Hispanic Heritage Month and participating in our planned school events. We are proud of our rich and diverse Sacred Heart community and want to celebrate and honor the heritage and traditions that you are proud to share with us. Together, we celebrate the beautiful diversity within our Catholic faith and community.
Yours in Christ,
Ms. Wilson
Automatic Gradebook Notification Emails
Parents/Guardians of students in Grades 3-8 will receive a daily automatic gradebook notification email any time a student receives a grade of 0, Missing, Incomplete or Absent. Grade reports for all students will be automatically generated and sent on Sundays. These emails will automatically come from Mrs. Coy's email. Be sure to reach out to the teacher of the grade/class in question for specific questions. As a reminder, you may not see too many items on the grade reports this Sunday since we are just getting back into our routines at school.

Sign Up For Student Led Conferences!
Dear Sacred Heart Families,
At Sacred Heart Catholic School, we are committed to our Goals of College and Heaven. To this end, we feel that it is imperative that students have an active role in our conferences, keeping open communication between the teacher, parent/guardian, and student.
In Student Led Conferences, the teacher takes on the role of facilitator, rather than that of leader. There is a great deal of preparation that goes into these conferences, for both the teacher and the student. In turn, students become the conference leaders by taking ownership of their learning, through the use of self-evaluation checklists, by setting appropriate goals for the next grading period, and truly being advocates for themselves, all with teacher support.
Lastly, parents/guardians are called to be open-minded, and focus the conversation on their child and reflect on their work with them. They listen to their child’s explanations and reflections and ask how they can help at home. Parents/Guardians can also participate in developing strategies to assist their child and are also called to support the goal-setting process."
