BHS April Newsletter
Hello BHS Families!
I hope spring break served as a time of joy and rejuvenation for our entire school community. I am looking forward to the promise of warmer weather as we welcome the arrival of April. As always, it is a pleasure to share with you updates and reminders as we continue to journey through the academic year.
The junior ACT test for 11th graders last month went smoothly. Attendance for the ACT was amazing! This month we have the PreACT assessment for all 9th and 10th graders. We hope to have continued success with our PreACT.
The last couple months of the school year will pass in the blink of an eye. I am filled with pride and optimism as we embrace the opportunities and challenges that April brings. Let's continue to cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and compassion within our school community!
Thank you for your continued support, and may the month of April be filled with joy, growth, and endless possibilities.
In partnership,
Amy Levonian
BHS Principal
BHS Updates and Reminders
PreACT Test - Tuesday, April 9th
Freshmen and Sophomores will be taking the PreACT Test at BHS on Tuesday, April 9th. Below is a reminder of information that was shared with students and families of 9th and 10th graders earlier this week:
- Freshman and Sophomore students are required to take the PreACT which will include four assessments: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Students will be testing with their Advisory.
- Students must ensure they bring their charged, district issued Chromebook and charger, ACT approved calculator, and be well rested.
- Students are welcome to eat free breakfast in the Commons in the morning before testing begins, as a good breakfast provides great fuel for testing!
- Once testing concludes at 11:30am, students will head to the Commons for lunch (cheeseburgers, chicken, pizza and cold items will be available for purchase, or students may bring cold lunch).
- Students will be dismissed at 12:00pm, upon which buses and parent pick up will take place. If your student is a typical bus rider, their bus number will be provided to them that morning, as well as from their Advisor.
Juniors and Seniors will have asynchronous learning posted on Google Classroom and should not be onsite at BHS on April 9th.

15th Annual DRIVEN Easter Egg Hunt Sets Attendance Record!
The "Luck of the Egg-rish" descended upon Burlington on Saturday, March 16th, as the 15th annual DRIVEN Easter Egg Hunt welcomed over 1000 attendees to Burlington High School! This door-busting event marked the largest FREE Easter Egg Hunt in southeastern Wisconsin, spreading joy and community spirit far and wide.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses, donations overflowed, filling the Love Inc. food pantry and over 12,000 eggs were collected! But the real magic happened as DRIVEN members painted faces, scattered eggs, and hosted a plethora of Egg-cellent free activities for all ages.
Thank you to all who attended and contributed to making this year's DRIVEN Easter Egg Hunt one for the books! Let's continue to spread joy, kindness, and community spirit together!

Seeking Donations for the Demon Closet
Burlington High School's Demon Closet is a place located in the main office where students are able to access school supplies, clothing, toiletries, and food items. We have received generous donations from community members to help stock the Demon Closet, but unfortunately those funds have run out and we are looking for new ways to keep the closet stocked with the most needed items. The Demon Closet has been servicing about 25-30 students a day and our biggest demand is snacks and lunch items.
If you are interested in donating, please check out this Amazon Wishlist! Please have items sent directly to Burlington High School for your convenience. If you would like to donate items not on the wishlist, please contact Julia Fewell at jfewell@basd.k12.wi.us
Thank you so much for your support!
