I hope everyone has had a nice weekend so far! It was great to see those of you that attended our Curriculum Night on Thursday. It is always a welcomed start to the year too see our families coming into the school to meet with teachers. I will be sending my presentation to all of you this week, so that you have the important links I mentioned during my presentation.

Students will be finishing their bench mark assessments this week, which will lead us into our data meetings to see where all students stand at the beginning of the year. I wish you all a wonderful week ahead.

Dear Parents and Families --

To better estimate the demand for lunches on half days, CPS Nutrition utilizes online lunch ordering for HALF DAYS ONLY.

For the upcoming half day Wednesday 9/18/24 orders must be received by Friday 9/13/24.

If you would like your child to have lunch on future half days, the online ordering is open for you to go ahead and select those dates.

Directions to set up your account and order:

1. URL Link: family.onlineordering.linq.com
2. Sign up now: Email, create password.
3. School District: Chelmsford Public Schools
4. Student ID: This can be found on x2- Child’s student ID number
5. Last Name: (You can also search and add siblings/family members at this time). Once this is completed, the student's name should appear on the page.

How to order meals

1. School Menu-select online lunch ordering (all schools)
2. Scroll to week of half day/early release date (top right of page)
3. Find date, select meal option
4. Add item to cart/Select Add to order
5. Click on shopping cart icon at top right of page
6. Click Check out
7. Select pick up location: Elementary pick-up location classroom. Middle/high school pick up location cafeteria.
8. Place order

On Friday, September 27 students will be participating in the Harrington School Walk-a-thon during their specialist block. The kids will have 50 minutes to complete as many laps as possible around the CHS track. Students can choose to walk or run during our event. The funds raised will go to our annual Harrington School Field Day in June. Rain date will be Friday, October 4.

Please find the attached pledge sheet to help raise funds. Sponsors can pledge an amount per lap or a flat donation for completing the walk. Any donations will be greatly appreciated!

All pledge sheets and donations are due back to classroom teachers by Friday, October 4. If rain date is used, donations will be due Friday, October 11.

Volunteers are not needed for this event. However, parents can help out by making sure students come prepared with sneakers, comfortable clothing, and a water bottle.

Hello Harrington families!

Who’s at Roller Kingdom tonight?!? We hope you are having a BLAST! Thank you so much to all of the families who signed up for our first event. We have a great turnout tonight and it is all thanks to your support! Couldn’t make it tonight? No worries! There will be plenty more events to attend (keep reading for a sneak peek of October)!

We would also like to take a moment to thank everyone who dined out at Papa Gino’s Wednesday and helped to make our first Dine to Donate a success. It was pretty busy there around lunch time (we heard there was about an hour wait for pizza because of a fundraiser - oops)!

Pride Wear Sales started Friday, September 20

Pride Wear sales started Friday, September 20 and will close Friday, October 4 at midnight. A flyer was sent home with more information about the sale and the QR code to access the store (or check it out below). 10% of every order will support your HPTO. Any sizing questions should be directed to Center Sports, Chelmsford, who graciously set up the store for us. Happy shopping!

National Custodial Workers Day due Monday, September 30

Have your student send in a homemade thank you card to Nico for National Custodial Workers Day! Please send in completed cards ATTN: HPTO so we can gift them on Wednesday, October 2.

Earlier printed material referenced voting for the entire month of September, but due to a last minute change with Milltown, the voting window now runs tentatively October 1 through October 31.

Trunk or Treat Candy Donations begin Monday, October 7

Help us make our Trunk or Treat event a success by donating a bag or two of candy! A collection monster will be out in the lobby of the main building starting Monday, October 7 and we will be collecting up to the event. Have your student drop the donation in the monster on their way into school. Thank you for your generosity!

HPTO Monthly Meeting Wednesday, October 9

Please join us Wednesday, October 9 from 6:30-7:30 in the library. The meeting will also have a zoom option, which will be sent through ConnectEd the morning of the scheduled meeting, along with our agenda for the evening. Be sure to check your email!

Say Cheese! It’s Picture Day! Friday, October 11*

Be on the lookout for picture day order forms once the date gets closer! If you didn't know, school photos are actually utilized as a fundraiser for our schools! Each K-8 school's PTO will receive 20% of sales. This is one of the largest fundraisers for our district.

Please contact cpsphotoinfo@gmail.com with any K-8 school photo related questions or concerns, as well as any feedback (both positive and negative) with your school photo experience.

Trunk or Treat Saturday, October 19 4pm-6pm*

Food trucks! Bake sale! Crafts! Oh my! Oh, and most importantly, trunk or treat! Save the date - you don’t want to miss this event! Flyers go home next week, so check it out for lots of important information and QR codes for signups.

We’re looking for volunteers to decorate their trunks (at no charge to you), provide some delicious treats for our bake sale, and volunteer for setup and breakdown of the event. We can’t do this without you!

Come in your costumes, enjoy some yummy food, music, crafts, and trunk or treat!
