A Note from Mrs. Quam
Conferences
It has been a pleasure meeting with families during our winter conferences to discuss your child's academic and social progress. I look forward to meeting with more parents and students on Thursday, February 21st (4-8:00 p.m.) and Thursday, February 28th (4-8:00 p.m.). If you have not yet signed up for a conference, please send me an email to secure a time slot. Thanks!

During the week on February 18th families may purchase books to inspire kids to read, while also helping to provide resources for our school community.
Lowry Nature Center Field Trip:
On Wenesday, February 27th we will be going on a field trip to the nature center for some outdoor fun! Please make sure your child wears warm clothing including a warm, winter coat, snowpants, boots, hat, scarf, and mittens or gloves. Students will be downhill sledding, kick-sledding, hiking throught the woods looking for animal tracks, bird watching and more!
The Lowry Nature Center has a policy to protect our environment and requests that students pack a "Zero-Trash" lunch. Please help your child by packing their lunch in containers instead of plastic baggies. If you have signed up to be a chaparone, please remember to pack a "zero-trash" lunch for you too. Thanks!
Reading with the Dogs:
We are "pawsitively" excited to be reading with our dog pals on Monday, March 4th! Please make sure your child wears their special blue paws shirt. Thank you in advance for promoting our TEAM reading dog program.
Visit to the Colony:
Kindness Campaign
We are collecting "Cans for Joe" and other non-perishable food items in honor of his many years of service with Eden Prairie PROP. Food items can be sent to school with your child.
Literacy
At the beginning of February I sent home a pink February Word Wizard Packet. This homework packet is meant to be completed with your assistance and help our young learners to reinforce skills taught in school. Please encourage your child to complete it s l o w l y and carefully. As the cover letter suggusts, you could shoot for approximately four pages a week. Thank you in advance for supporting your child to do quality work, rather than quick work. Please return the Word Wizzard packet on the last school day of each month. Thanks!
