Walden PTO Weekly

We are a month into school and have many great events ahead! Please read through the newsletter so that you don't miss out on all the fun we have planned!

One of the great ways to stay up to date on all things PTO is by joining our Facebook page-Walden Elementary Family Network (https://www.facebook.com/share/g/tdiPGxdSnn2epmnv/) or by following us on Instagram @walden109pto. We will share upcoming events, pictures from current ones and please tag us in your posts or share any of ours!

The PTO is creating a recess cart! We are putting together carts with grade-appropriate activities that can be done with a small group, a partner, or alone. We need your help to fill the carts!

We are looking for the following types of items:

Gently used games that do not have a lot of small pieces, like Chutes & Ladders, paper & pencil games, activity books (mazes, sudoku, mad libs), toss/catch games, ribbon ninja, decks of cards, Go Fish, Crazy 8's, War, Uno, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Origami paper, paper airplane kits, crayons & markers, fidgets, etc.

Please drop off your gently used, good-condition items in the bin in the Walden lobby.

NEW THIS YEAR! Walden Movie Night is moving to Wayfarer Theaters in Highland Park. Come watch a movie to be chosen by the 5th grade, enjoy snacks and hang out with fellow Wildcats. THIS IS NOT A DROP-OFF EVENT. One adult per every four children is required to attend. Tickets include a small popcorn and bottle of water. Other concessions will also be available. Online ticket sales end 10/13 at 10:00 p.m. Ticket price increases to $15 at the door. Click here to purchase tickets.

Following the movie, grab dinner across the street at Michael's for an Eat & Earn event. 10% of proceeds at Michael's will go directly back to the Walden PTO.

We are seeking any and all bakers! Please donate your homemade sweets and treats to be sold throughout the book fair. If you are interested in baking, please e-mail Sami Worth at sami.worth@compass.com. All treats will be dropped off in the Walden lobby on 10/15.

Trunk or Treat is coming on October 27th! More information and sign-ups to be sent out soon.
