JKSA Update
November 11, 2024
Important Information
Campus Fundraiser
Thank you all who donated to our campus fundraiser! All funds raised will go right back into the school to purchase new technology, activities, and supplies for your learner. We appreciate all you do to support our campus.
Veteran's Day
Thank you to all the Veterans that were able to come on Friday and thank you to everyone who submitted a Veteran Sheet. We will proudly display our Wall of Honor the entire month of November. We are grateful for your service, and the sacrifice you have made for our country.
Toys For Tots Donations
We will be collecting toys in the office for our Toys for Tots drive. Any learner who brings in a toy will receive two hive points. All toys will be taken to the MISD Toys for Tots Night at the MISD Performing Arts Center on December 4th from 5:00-10:00. We encourage all families to come out to this event. There will activities, food, fun and Santa!
Academic UIL Teams
Art! Science! Chess! Math! Speaking! Writing! Listening! . . . (and much more!!) . . . It’s ALMOST time to sign up for the MISD Middle School UIL Tournament which is scheduled for February 7-8, 2025. JKSA learners will have the chance to compete in this extracurricular contest against teams from the other MISD middle schools in 17 academic events. Families and learners can learn more about the middle school UIL Academic contests at this link.
JKSA learners who think they want to compete this year can self-enroll in our Canvas course to start accessing study materials by using this link. Learners can start preparing for UIL Academics on their own or form practice groups with friends. Learners can access our UIL Canvas course anytime, anywhere and prepare at home or they can use time during iSTEM to prepare while at school.
Questions about JKSA UIL events or contests can be directed to BlakeLindsey@misdmail.org

MISD Fighting Policy
As always, when a physical altercation occurs on campus regardless of the location, a thorough investigation will be conducted. This year students who engage in a mutual fight will be considered for a placement at DAEP as well as being criminally trespassed from attending optional school activities at any MISD campus, such as sporting events, dances, homecoming, or prom.
