Class Committee Summer Schedule!
Get involved this summer to help the Class of 2027! We will meet this summer on the following dates:
June 25th 12:30-1:30--Gather, Connect, Listen, Plan, discuss hall and turkey day t-shirts

DROPPING A VIRTUAL SUMMER SCHOOL CLASS: Per KHS drop policy, if students drop after 10 days they will receive an F in the class and the grade will be transcripted.
June 11th, 2024, at 11:59 pm, is the last day to drop a June PeLA class for no penalty.
June 14th, 2024, at 11:59 pm, is the last day to drop a June LAUNCH class for no penalty.
July 19th, 2024, at 11:59 pm, is the last day to drop a July LAUNCH class for no penalty.
The virtual Pioneer eLearning Academy (PeLA) classes are taught by a KHS teacher, on Schoology, and are completely asynchronous. The classes offered in June include, lifetime fitness, health, and personal finance (personal finance is the only PeLA class offered for dual credit). Please note, Personal Finance is not allowed for incoming 9th graders to take.
Launch classes are available in June and July and are also online and asynchronous, but taught by a teacher from Springfield Public Schools. There are an array of summer courses available on Launch. Again, students can’t enroll in both Launch and PeLA platforms in June and only Launch classes are available in July. If your student failed a core class during the 2023 - 2024 school year and needs to recover that credit, KHS Summer School Principal Mr. Phil Deist, will be in contact with you. Students who fail a core class are ineligible to take any enhancement PeLA or Launch classes in June.

Fall Play- October 3-5- The Man Who Came to Dinner, by Moss Hart and George F. Kaufman:
Sheridan Whiteside, famous radio personality, has fallen on the steps of the Stanley’s. Trapped there for his recuperation, he forces everyone to bend to his egotistical demands.
Winter Blackbox- December 5-7th- All My Sons, by Arthur Miller:
When Chris Keller invites Ann to visit, her return to her childhood home threatens to upend secrets and a past that was best left buried.
Freshman/ Sophomore play: January 23-25th- One hour Titus Andronicus, by William Shakespeare:
Shakespeare’s bloodiest play, after the death of the Roman Emperor, his two sons argue over who should succeed him. Their conflict boils over and spreads violence and revenge.
Spring Musical: April 3-5th- Curtains, by the Kander and Ebb (the creators of Cabaret and Chicago): In1959, Boston’s Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage the entire cast & crew are suspects, a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan, investigates. The Broadway production garnered 8 nominations at the 2007 Tony Awards® including Best Musical.
Michigan State University Extension Program: Free sessions!
Are you ready to leave for college or be out on your own? Are you prepared to do adult tasks and have skills to be successful? Michigan State University Extension's Adulting 101 programs help teenagers and young adults demystify the obscure reality of being an “adult” through engaging educational sessions. Each FREE session is packed full of important life skills and tools necessary to live independently!
