The Earth Day planning committee is seeking a few more volunteers to help make our Earth Day Celebration on Friday, May 2nd a big, green success!

Join us for a fun-filled day of hands-on activities where kids will dig in the dirt, plant flowers, and learn how to take care of our planet. The more volunteers we have, the more fun (and less messy) it will be for everyone!

Vernfield HSA Food Truck Festival will be Friday, May 2nd from 5-8pm. This is a fundraising event where several invited food trucks will be available for vending to our Vernfield families and will give back a portion of their proceeds to the Vernfield HSA.

This is an amazing outdoor event with great eats, DJ music, and playground fun!

Food trucks include Wrap n' Roll, The Meat Wagon, Pizzeria La Familia, Waffle Cabin, and Kona Ice.

Please note that this is not a drop-off event. All students must be accompanied by an adult.

Our annual Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2025, with a rain date scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025.

Field Day will continue to be an all-day event. Kindergarten through Fifth Grade will be participating in various activities from 9:10 until 3:10.

The Vernfield Home & School Association is seeking parent volunteers to participate in the final Pod Parents program of the year, available on:

-Tuesday, May 6th

-Wednesday, May 7th

Pod Parents is a volunteer program where parent(s)/guardian(s) assist any participating teachers & staff with projects, tasks, and/or other busy work. Volunteers may float amongst the six (6) pods (K - 5th grades), the Main Office and the Library to complete any work during their designated time slot.

Teachers & Staff are looking for help at the following times:

• 9:00 – 11:00am
• 1:00 – 3:00pm

When you arrive at the school, please:

1. Check into the front office for the Pod Parent directions. You will need your driver’s license and the completed volunteer registration form, which can be found on the SASD website.
2. Once checked in, you can proceed to any of the Pods, where there will be instructions that participating teachers have left for the volunteers. Please note that all volunteer work will be completed in the Pod and not in the classrooms.
3. Please do not enter the classrooms or otherwise disturb classroom learning. Further, younger siblings may not accompany the adults while volunteering at school.
4. Please be respectful that pod parent volunteer time is not a time to hold individual conversations with your child's teacher or to visit the classroom of your child.
5. Kindly check with Mrs. Smerecki (Main Office) and Mrs. Porco (Library) to see if they need assistance.
6. If you have completed your work, and you are not able to find any additional work, please be advised that you are not required to stay for the full two (2) hours.
7. Finally, if you are not able to complete the project, please leave the instructions and materials in the pod as you found them for the next group of volunteers to work on.

Souderton Summer Camp will be running from June 16th - August 15th, 2025, and is now open for registration. More information can be found in the accompanying flyer.

The SASD Summer Camp offers children a chance to engage in recreational activities and have fun in a structured environment. Our programs include Art, Gym, Science, Swimming, and field trips, as well as events, special guest, sports, and games.
