Hello Main Street Family!

Our students had a very busy week. Main Street students were represented in the CUSD Science Fair. They also participated in the CUSD Winter Concert.

Finally they collected donations of canned and non perishable food items to support our partnership with the Epsilon Pi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. Ms. Anderson's 5th grade class will be awarded a pizza party for their donation of 99 items. Ms. Tiller's Kindergarten class room was a close second with their donation of 91 cans. Our students efforts will go toward food baskets being distributed tomorrow at the Boys and Girls' Club. See the flyer below for details.

I would like to take this time to thank you for all you do to support your students and the Main Street staff. We count it a privilege to be able to educate your most valuable possessions. We thank you for trusting us and look forward to finishing this academic year strong. In the final 5 1/2 months remaining when students return, it is imperative they report to school on time and remain until school is dismissed. We believe our students are destined for greatness and we strive to give them the best education available!

Winter break begins Friday, December 20, 2024! There is no school for students for students through Friday, January 3, 2025! Students will return Monday, January 6, 2024.

Our yearly goal for average attendance is 95%. We slipped to 91.1% this week. We must continue to move in an upward direction!! We can do it!! Send your child to school every day! They enjoy hearing their homerooms shouted out for perfect attendance!!

The Brothers of Epsilon Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. are having their annual Turkey Drive at the Boys and Girls Club of Chester on December 21,2024. We are starting at 12pm and will be handing out Turkeys while supplies last. Please come out an receive a Turkey!!!

Parents and Guardians:

Chromebooks or other technological devices are used in class for students to complete assignments and assessments.. Students may not download games, wallpapers or participate in video group discussions. Improper use of technology could result in the student losing privileges of using the school's device.

Congratulations to our young scientists who participated in the districtwide Science Fair. Mrs. DiFurio's 1st Grade class won 1st place in the K-2 division.

Harlem Graham won 2nd place in the 3rd - 5th grade division .

Parents:

Please refrain from making u turns in the car line during dismissal. The safety of our children and parents is of utmost importance to us. We would like to move the cars through the line without any disruptions.

It is important your child(ren) attend school every day. The chart below indicates how much instruction your child(ren) will miss if they are not present.

Join the PTO!

PTO meetings will meet the second Thursday of the month. Our next PTO meeting will be Thursday, January 23, 2024.

The items in our lost and found is growing. Please have your children retrieve their items. All items not claimed by Thursday will be donated to Goodwill.
